2. They are taking a break right now. But I cannot believe the
garbage coming out of the guy who is playing the apologist for the machines. The risk is that we are going to keep the bad, bad machines on...Come on, he sounds like Bush with the Terra, Terra.

3. We need to have people that are computer literate on the boards
that are in charge of selecting voting equipment. The machine apologist is spouting so much garbage that you cannot believe it.

The Canadian caller had a question: WHY electronics. They haven't had any problems.

The apologist is saying: our country is too big and too complex. BS maximum.

4. The computer scientist on the program finally said: You might
get the impression that computers scientists are equally divided in their opinion about the voting machines... it is not true. The overwhelming majority have big concerns about the accuracy and security of the machines and emphasize the need for verifiability of the vote via paper and other means. (quoted from memory, not verbatim).

5. Bev Harris mentioned as a hero to the non-elite in this country! Yeah!
The caller specified the statement made by the Diebold CEO with a promise to "deliver the votes to Bush."

7. That caller was quite sharp
Naturally, that David guy (the machine apologist) ducked her question entirely.

LA81- you may want to change your thread title from the name of your local station to "NPR"-- I was listening on WUNC, Chapel Hill.
