But I've noticed she's very adept at not answering the question, but just making a talking point that's only tangentially related.

I was watching the Book Reviews last night on C-SPAN and I don't remember who said this (sorry), but someone in the sudience asked about the claim that "they hate us because of our freedom" statement.

The response was "if they hate us because of our Freedon, why have there not been any threats or attacks on Sweeden, Norway, Canada....? They are all free countries too! The reason is because the USA sticks it's nose into everyone elses business and is obviously trying to rule the World and it's resources. The other countries that have suffered attacks are those assisting the US in it's efforts!"

I wish I could have given that response to Karen Hughs today!!!

Didn't he do two duties. One of them was off the coast, but it's about 4,000 miles closer to Vietnam then Bush ever got. Plus, he got three purple hearts in that 4 months.

So to sum up, she thinks it's wrong to look into a politicians background if he might have broken the laws of the country (you know, like using cocaine or deserting), but you should look into the background of someone who served his country with honor and put his own life on the line multiple times. Makes perfect sense.
