this is wierd on polls
and to clarify ahead, i am shining polls, not putting any stock in them and way too soon anyway.,

on hardball washington poll and la times poll, the swing states kerry is now ahead by two points, as a nation bush is ahead by 5

that one doesnt make sense at all to me from what we have been seeing

oh well

1. You know...
the degree of difference they've been talking about either way for quite a while now has been within the margin of error, or very near. Two points, three points, five points...essentially, it's a dead heat.

2. Kerry has had record fundraising, outraising Bush in the last month
The only poll that is relevant is the one that we vote at.

3. This may help explain it...
Excerpted from Donkey Rising, April 22 entry (scroll down):

"Instead of getting more votes where he needs them--in the battleground states--his posturing is mostly driving up his support in the hardcore red states, where he doesn't need them. If that's true, Democrats should definitely not be intimidated by recent poll results. Bush is preaching to the converted--which can make him look better in a national poll--but he's not winning many new converts where it counts."

I highly recommend this site for people who are interested in polling analysis.
