7 August 1998 - Nairobi & Dar es Salaam bombings
I came across this article in the Daily Nation (Nairobi) while browsing news this afternoon:

Bomb victims mourned with tears and wreaths

Bearing wreaths, scars and tear-soaked memories, survivors of the embassy bomb blast and relatives of the dead gathered yesterday to mark the tragic day five years ago when a terrorist attack changed Kenya.

Huddled in a neat flower garden where the fortress-like United States embassy once stood, they paid tribute – in speeches, tears and mournful silence – to their loved ones and the brave men and women who battled to save the wounded on that fateful morning of August 7, 1998.

Daily Nation

------------

And this morning, as we all know, the Jordanian embassy in Baghdad was struck by a car bomb.

I was struck that today's bombing could be an aniversary reminder. Oddly enough though, I don't recall any media mentioning this.
