Yesterday my 14 year old son came home with a burn on his shoulder. He told me the Marines had run his gym class. They set up an obstacle course and ran it like a boot camp for which I am pretty peeved. It's a public school so they have no business doing this without the parents ok. There was some type of permission slip that my son had to sign, like I said before he is 14 so I don't quite know what that is about. I'm what for an e-mail back from his teacher. One Marine got in the face of one of the boys and was yelling at him to do push ups, the kid pulled out some mints and told the guy he needed one. I say bravo to him, my kid just pretended he couldn't hear over the sound of the fans running. (My son got the burn on his shoulder from tripping on a rope and sliding down and inflatable slide on his shoulder) They have done this before with permission slips, their theory is that if it doesn't come back then the parents are giving permission for what ever. I think it's time to put a stop to that crap.
edit: I'm guessing it is a one day happening, I'll find out for sure when I get the e-mail from his teacher.
