Golly Darn--Are Democrats Terminally Stupid...or What??????
I’m ready to throw in the towel after being in this party of four decades. I cannot abide a party that is STILL too ding darn ignorant that it can’t put up an umbrella to keep the rain off it’s head.

Remember, less than a year ago we were the laughing stock of the nation as we got butchered in the mid-term elections. In two months, we will hand over the most LIBERAL state in the union to the GOP. Mark my word......the message that will resonate across this nation is that we are still LOSERS, LOSERS, LOSERS who can‘t even hold on to swinging, “left wing“ California---and nobody gets excited or votes/supports losers. Our presidential candidates might as well fold the circus tent and go home.

Where is our golly darn DNC and the Clinton lap-dog, McAuliff???? How did this get this far?? Our well-thought-out brilliant plan was to back a golly gee, UN-popular governor and just scream “Not Fair--Not Fair”!!! Because of how critical California is both symbolically and in reality, Davis should have been of no consideration....just the holding on to the governorship. We should have had a Finestein ready to go on the ballot to either deter an “Arnold” (and it would have) or to give an alternative that was a definite Democratic replacement!! Now look where we are. A couple “dullards” to go against an Arnold.....and GOP corks are popping out of bottles across this land tonight!!!

My prediction: even if we chose the greatest presidential candidate of all times, Bush does not need to spend 5 cents of the $200 million plus he is going to raise in trying to defeat our candidate..............our golly gee, darn DNC will kill the poor golly darn candidate with no outside help whatsoever!! Gosh Darn. Gosh Darn. Ohhh, Golly Geeee Wiz. Oh, and by the way, the DNC better get this stupid, carnival act of our nine jokers cleaned up and shaped up, and shit (opps bad word), showered and shaved and ready for prime time. This is group is also a goll;y darn joke. There are political science students in our universities who could out think and out “politic” this pathetic piece of golly darn stuff we call the DNC!!!!! Excuse me I have to go to church now and confess that I said “sh.......”.

2. This thread is a classic
Fight the power.

This is a second sentence to make sure my post is long enough. Please let me know if the grammar is acceptable. I promise not to curse. I won't mention Arnold because that might be too much like another similar thread within the allotted time frame. Once this post has been check by the DU lawyers, you may be allowed to read it if you qualify. :)

9. Something tells me the Call is already being made...
The only way to stop this crazy train is to have Davis resign.

Davis Resignation = No Recall and No Repub in the CA state house.

Bustamante is sworn in, CA stays in Dem column. End of story. Ridiculous media goes home, has to actually write about the BS that the Bush administration is pulling (Iraq/Liberia/etc ad nauseum).

Local municipalities save the $$$ they didn't have in the 1st place that they would have had to spend on holding stupid recall election (maybe a few local agency jobs get spared as a result.)

Bustamante in his honeymoon period might actually be able to get the CA legislature to take its collective head out of its butt and start working again for their constituents (bonus.)

10. Even if Calif. gets a GOP governor
I don't believe Bush will win the state. Clinton won Calif. when Repub Pete Wilson was governor.

11. Question: If Davis resigns, is it automatic now that Lt. Gov. gets in
and this recall is off?? If so, does he serve out the "term" or does it just mean that he serves until a new election called??? It seems to me that these DNC idiots better get in there and make Davis "an offer he can't refuse"!!---this is so when I want to have the real deal Mafia that the Bush junta has in place to make any one who dare get out line just disappear....or unfortunately get on the wrong plane.

13. P.S. to the post I just made.................
Is it also possible that if Davis gets the extension he wants to have this election in like Feb. or March and things look bad, that he can resign then at any time and the Lt. Gov would take over and end the special election????

12. Yes, but the evil PNAC was operating then,
so Pete Wilson was a legitimate if lousy governor and he didn't pander to Washington, because Clinton was in the WH.

17. If Gray gave in and left what would happen?
Seems like it would be the best for Calif and the Dem party if he could just pass it to the Lt. Gen or who ever is next in line. For a state going in the hole this is foolish. Yar I knew it was man handled by Bush and Co and Edron but this is a mean game they all play. For get fair the GOP is mean and means to win at any cost.

15. OhhhKayyy, now I'm really confused
So, if the recall election would go forward even if Davis resigns then what exactly are they voting on?? In other words, they would be voting "yes" or "no" on the recall of someone who no longer exists. So where does that leave the Lt. Gov. that took over the slot??? Would he have to also appear as a candidate on the ballot?? You smoke too much funny stuff out there in CA, gang.....put out the weed and sober up. No wonder Davis can't get that state in order.....

16. I'm glad they showed a united front
up to this point and have stood behind Davis.

But I, too, am wondering how we let it get this far. This is a spectacle. I'm counting on the voters of CA to vote No on the recall and put this matter to rest.

Would have been a lot easier if Arnold had not entered.

18. It's only going to get worse
Now that Ahnuld is in the race Davis doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of getting the recall voted down barring a miracle. Until Ahnuld jumped in, the GOP would have dropped like a fly out here because they had too many people running. Now that the Terminator is in, its going to be a rough fight. I just hope that the state party gets off of its duff and gets to work out here putting the cork in the recall, I know our state party has been on the ball more than the DNC has been more often than not in the past few years.
