So if he is such a thug, how come the perpetrators of the 2001/2002 coup against him are still alive, what's more still free, what's more still plotting against him? How come such huge chunks of the media are free to broadcast racist anti-Chavez vitriol all the time? If he is such a thug, how come he didn't just ban the opposition after the coup and kill its leaders? You tell me what would happen to the members of a failed coup against the US government.

on edit: As for him being a failure, he has hardly had the easiest circumstances to work in. Judge Venezuela by the standards of South America in general, and he doesn't come out as a failure at all...
