She did a great job, plugging the site, ranting about the fairness doctrine, etc.

I don't think she was speeding as much as trying to get everything in she wanted to say. This isn't a movie plugging visit where you can amble at will. This is the restoration of the American mind. It can't be done in a day, but she clearly wanted to make a strong start.

That's the way she always is, in her standup and everything. She did a great job and was brave in the face of an audience that was silent unless she made fun of her hair. At least they applauded at the end. Good work, Janeane!

7. I love Jeaneane, and I am glad she got the url out, but

I didn't think she did that great. Yes, it was a tough audience, but I LOVE her, and I didn't think she was very funny tonight. She had a few moments, but in general, it wasn't a strong performance. I htink the problem was just that since it was not a "Janeane" audience, she felt the need to define things too much, and tone down too much (repeated differentiating between right wing and conservative, for example). Funny thing is, I thought she did GREAT vs O'Lielly. Maybe the prob isn't a hostile audience, but just an uninformed audience. With O'Lielly, it was probably much easier for her to target her jabs.

for that mainstream audience.

First of all, that hat was scary.

Second of all, belittling herself was incongruous with trying to appeal to and interest people. Why would I care about someone who says "I do stupid stuff and I don't know why, but I keep doing it."

That appeals to a small college crowd, but not Jim and Jane Facist in Alpharetta.
