CNN=Fox News
CNN is the new Fox.

Right in the middle of the live Kerry speech they broke away and began an interview with some republican hack to diss what the the senator was saying.

Now lets be serious, bush's enviormental record is the worst ever. Period. Secondly, there is little coverage or insight coming from CNN about the numerous alterations in the science reports and EPA reports. The ones the bush administration fixes to fit in with their political positions. This administration has an Americans second attitude. Them first, Americans second. Or, as Govenor Dean says, politics first over the people.

These points need to be brought out by the senator. He needs to get to plain talk fast. Pardon the pun, but he needs to stop beating around the bush. He needs to speak in short hard truth. This the the key.

It's almost impossible to encapsulate the misdeeds of this administration in the short time span that the news outlets will allow democrats. So short hard truths delivered with conviction is the ONLY way to get attention and headlines.

Also, where are other democrats. What are they doing? When Kerry makes an accusation against this administration, the opposing side has a team of people that fire back from all sides. We are losing this battle. It's time to assemble a group of Ted Kennedy type personas like they have to hit back from all angles also. Bush's simpleton mind, simpleton delivery, simpleton grasp of the issues and downright lying sound bites as given in his advertising are resonating for some reason. These things need to be neutralized fast.

All has to do is tell the TRUTH in short sound bites and keep repeating it. Bush is the worst president ever and do to this record, this presidency is being handed to John Kerry on a silver platter. But he must take it!

Fellow DU's, CNN has reverted to the EXACT same coverage they gave us during the 2000 election when they hung on to, and disected every word by Al Gore, and let bush slide. I encourage you to write CNN now and give them some hell. Better yet, and tell them you are turning them off completely.

And, lets start raising a lot more money for a win starting now!!

Godspeed

Edited on Thu Apr-22-04 02:58 PM by codegreen
the boycott is already in affect. CNN & MSNBC ratings blow.

you are spot on about Kerry and the other Democratic spokesmen in the media, though

3. CNN is a right wing joke...

They bashed Gore non-stop, they bashed Dean non-stop, they pimp McCain and Bush non-stop, they are trying to get Dems to vote Nader..

They are a Bush propaganda operation run by the White house and Bush's friends at the CIA....

Fuck them. Turn them off. Soviet Pravda.

4. CNN is far more dangerous because they come off so moderate while Fox
comes off as over the top. CNN has become very sophisticated propanda and unfortunately so has NPR.

7. Part of their plan.....
They were pacing themselves. Giving the appearance of being somewhat moderate.

Now they are going all out to reach their goal, which is to get the chimp re-selected by Diebold.

5. People ask where Kerry's defenders are
and their frustration is certainly justified. However, you're making the assumption that Democrats can just go on TV and defend Kerry whenever they want. That's not the case. The CNN managers control who gets on their shows, so even if we're jumping up and down trying to get on and defend Kerry, if the CNN folks don't want us on there there's nothing we can do.

I blame the networks, not the Kerry campaign, for the lack of Democratic voices.

9. Amen, rockymountaindem.
There are plenty of Democrats who would speak out if given the chance. But at this point the networks and cable stations have their pet Dems (Zell Miller, anybody? Joe Lieberman, Joe Biden) and they're the only ones who get a chance to speak.

Otherwise, the Dems are stuck with speaking out on C-Span, the ratings of which probably make CNN's ratings look gargantuan. Mr. Abercrombie of Hawaii noted on this week's Iraq Watch that the press gallery was empty during their session.

We really have to work hard to learn what's actually going on, 'cause the media isn't gonna show it to us.

10. I believe you are correct this time
Every time I hear Kerry or see something on him he is fighting back aggressively and saying the right things (or close to it)

How is it possible that it STILL doesn't seem like he's fighting back?

Pravda. Imperial Bushevik Pravda.

And yes, CNN IS worse than Faux because Faux only fools people who are already fools.

CNN propagandizes many more people who believe they actually are the opposite of Faux. I actually had an exchange with a reporter at the Inquirer where she actually replied

(this may not be an EXACT quote, but the gist is there)

"I try to keep informed of both sides of an issue. I watch FOX on the one extreme and CNN on the other extreme. The truth is somewhere in the middle."

:puke: :puke:

I had a hard time keeping my lunch down at that. Of course I treid to e-mail her and explain calmly and without hyperbole the true situation of CNN being Center-Right (actually now I think they are almost as Ultra-Right as Faux) and Faux being Ultra-Right and to "triangulate" using THAT scale is like reading Soviet Pravda and the American Communist Party Newsletter, then looking for the "truth in the middle".

Naturally, as soon as I "challenged the Matrix" her replies ceased immediately.

I guess I was as crazy as those poeple who said Bush was lying about Iraq having WMDs, eh?

 :silly:

8. You're just realizing this now?
This, the media where I first heard "they hate us for our freedoms" and accused Scott Ritter of "drinking Hussein's kool aid"? CNN=FOX=MSNBC=CNBC=ABC=CBS=NBC -- all are mouthpieces for the powerful.

11. I agree with what you are saying.
During the Bob Woodward- Larry King interview. They were doing the bush* 51% to 46% poll at bottom of screen, it seemed at interesting parts of the interview. Is there any way we can find out who calls the shots at CNN every morning? Do they have a round table every morning saying this is what we talk about? What else can we do to destroy Kerry? Is a former bush* family friend in charge like at Fox news?

15. Email I sent re CNN coverage of politics and Kerry speeches
You are showing extreme pro-Bush/anti-Kerry bias - beyond the usual Wolf Blitzer or other folks face making and spinning of the preface to questions and Statements. This time the Producers of your shows in their decision to walk over Kerry speeches - but not Bush speechs - are getting into making CNN look like a second Fox or Al-Jazeera.

Perhaps that is what you want. But I do not watch Fox or Al-Jazeera, and will stop watching CNN unless this bias is reduced.

Today, right in the middle of the live Kerry speech, CNN broke away and began an interview with some GOP person so as to dismiss the speech and imply what Kerry was saying was not worthy or useful to hear - and then added GOP comments that dumped on Kerry, spoken during his speech, as a "fair" way to kill the time - as if you would ever do that "fairness thing" as you cover a no news Bush stump speech for a solid 30 minutes with little or no cut away or talk over.

Bush's enviormental record is the worst ever. Period. Yet you say nothing about the many alterations/censoring of Bush Administration science reports and EPA reports.

You have no problem hiding Bush scandal from the public while you refuse to let Kerry get a few words in on Earth Day topics.

It's almost impossible to encapsulate the misdeeds of this administration in the short time span that CNN will allow Democrats - so you want your news to sound like a GOP ad with hard and fast lies and slogans -delivered with conviction. And to make sure we understand the CNN point of view, the producer will find 5 or 6 GOP spokespersons to say the variation on the GOP view, - as if you are asking 5 or 6 Democratic Party supporters of Kerry to reflect on how wise he is.

Only you can point out that what the GOP is putting out are Bush's stubborn and ignore changing facts attitude, via a simpleton delivery and the downright lying sound bites.

It seems CNN has reverted to the EXACT same coverage they gave America us during the 2000 election when they hung on to, and disected every word by Al Gore - even to the point of letting GOP lies about Gore saying lies (the never said "I invented the interenet" comes to mind)stand on show after show - as if those GOP lies were truth.

Meanwhile you let Bush slide in 2000 on hundreds of easily pointed out lies.

If you are going to cut of, talk over, and have GOP comments knocking what Kerry says, there is no way for Kerry to make his points, defend himself, and indeed no way to have a fair election. Since you did these same things before Bush was in office in 2000, it is not a case of Presidential importance or power or office. I can only hope you will tone down your right wing bias and allow a fairer election in 2004.

16. CNN and psyops.
This is an old article, but I thought I'd post it again since I haven't seen it posted/discussed here in awhile.

If CNN would stoop to allowing military personnel into their newsroom, I'm sure they'd think nothing of setting up shop for kkkarl or one of his henchmen.

Someone from chimpco is definitely pulling CNN's strings.
