What is going on over at Fox?
All I usually do is flip through the cable news channels. They are all right next to each other on my cable server.

The rest of the channels were showing Kobe Bryant stuff, but I get to Fox and that reprehensible John Gibson's show and he had on 3 people and was discussing the US media's depiction of the war and at least 2 of the 3 guys were very harsh and saying the obvious. This was a video game portrayal, designed for patriotic fervor and to not make the same vietnam mistakes of losing popular support.

Then a little while later I flip through. Other channels still on Kobe more or less, and Fox is showing clips of Gore's speech and the news caster said (I'm paraphrasing) Today's speech by Gore went directly to President Bush's credibility, dragged it front and center. He came as close as one could to calling the president a liar and putting him on notice."

What is this world coming to? I realize it was just a passing snapshot, but still.

2. I don't care what happens at that "mind control" channel
I used to watch it out of a gruesome fascination, I suppose it was the same impulse that causes people to stop at accidents, but I decided I had enough and deleted it from my cable.

5. It's interesting that you said "Dead Clock"
because people usually say "broken clock." A broken clock is not necessarily correct even once a day!

9. fux news, we decide, you swallow our load
of bs. I was just writing about the similarities between the Fux news and the Starship Troopers news in the loungue sp. They both come off as polorizing in terms of good and evil. Look at the way the war is portrayed in both meduims and you see striking similarities.

4. Sit down, breath deeply but slowly
Have you been out in the sun a long time? You may have been hallucinating.

But then I haven't watched Faux news in a while. My thumb automatically clicks the remote twice when I cruise pass the Faux news channel.

7. I rarely go to FOX...
but I have noticed lately that they are indeed falling off the bush wagon. I did read where the polls dropped a few points, and that may have something to do with the upheavel...but I wouldn't count on it to last for too long; this is the bushista megaphone.

10. Happenings at Fox
Maybe it's because Fox is fair and balanced ... Na-ah! :dunce:

I think Fox is not always just a propaganda arm of the Bush regime. At times Fox takes the lead in the policy setting and criticizes BushCo for failures. In effect, the right-wing masters of Fox take the moron to the woodshed for some discipline.

14. I think Stand might be on to something here . . .
Fox is stupid but they're not dumb. There's only so far they can spin Bush's blatant lies before even the sheeple don't really buy it anymore.

If they defend Bush boy down to the bitter end, the bitter end may be their own.

13. you didn't watch long enough
I just saw a few minutes of Faux b/c they were showing parts of Gore's speech.

The commentator said: in Gore's speech he said the president lied to us on the economy, environment, etc. just like he lied to us about Iraq. Then the commentator said "which, of course, is not true" or something in that vein.

15. hahahaha
I saw the end of the video game war part

that prick Gibson was visibly unhappy at the way his guests were tearing apart the war coverage.

he couldn't WAIT to end the segment

I couldn't believe what I was seeing, either.

16. Hmmmmm....ya don't suppose....
...that the corporate elite have realized what a huge mess ShrubCo has made of the world, and want him out? Murdoch's "fair and balanced coverage (LOL)" could really come in handy in trying to undermine the corrupt administration.

Hey...my first "tinfoil hat" post! I'm so proud!

The media really isn't liberal or conservative it's corporate and self serving, only interested in ratings.

They appear conservative to whip us into a patriotic fervor when shrub wants a war, keeping their ratings up while the sheeple watch out of fear/bloodlust

when the reasons for war are proved to be a load of bull they try to defend him until it becomes too obvious, then they boost their ratings by whipping up patriotic fervor with a left tilt...the people will be angry when faux news and msnbc start reporting that bush lied, troops died, and he needs to be impeached

anyone ever see Tomorrow never dies? (james bond # 18)

19. It's just Business.
Faux carved out the ultra-conservative news niche, while the others all fought for the middle. When Faux started getting the ratings that make the money- the others took noticed, and they all charged enmasse into Faux's conservative niche and went and diluted the ratings.
So perhaps Faux has decided that the left has now become the underserved niche where there's ratings gold to be found...

Somehow, I don't think that I could stomach a left-wing cheerleader Faux News.
