Stephen Harper, leader of the Conservative Party of Canada went on Fox News in the US to bitch about Canada's non-participation in the Iraq debacle. That's like going to the teacher and ratting on your friends! Loser.

2. I rather suspect that he knew that...
If H*rp*r was seen on Canadian television bitching about non-participation in Chimpy's war, his ass would be swinging from the nearest lamppost (which would be nice, of course).

My guess? He's hoping for some campaign $$$ from Chimpy. Probably via the CIA.

Paranoid? Moi? Can you spell C-H-I-L-E? H-A-I-T-I, perhaps? These shitbirds would do anything, and I include both Chimpy AND H*rp*r in that list.

:nuke:

3. Lots of Oil up here where Harper lives.
I'm just saying.

He's sucking up to the US right. That's a big stick we can beat him with in the election.

4. If I remember correctly, Ralphie boy did the same thing...
and he got squat from it from his buddies south of the border. I don't think it will have any effect on the election at all. Those of us who wouldn't vote Alliance regardless know that he is repub-lite and those that would vote for them are supportive of sucking up to the right wing in the US. The Alliance won't win this election, the only two questions I have is: Will it be a Liberal majority or minority? Who will be the Opposition party?

5. Well, Martin intends to portray Harper as an extremist in the election
http://www.globeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20040420.wxelec0420/BNStory/National/

They indicated to MPs and campaign workers at a strategy session in Toronto on Saturday that they believe the Liberals can win a majority government by portraying Conservative Leader Stephen Harper as a right-wing extremist over such policies as his support for the war in Iraq.

Liberal Party pollsters were in the field last week asking Ontarians whether they were "more or less likely to vote for the Conservative/Alliance if you knew they had been taken over by evangelical Christians."

This was clearly a campaign-style poll to test-drive a negative campaign against Mr. Harper.

"We're going to be drawing some pretty careful distinctions between Stephen Harper and Paul Martin," a senior Liberal strategist said, adding the Liberals plan to paint the Conservative leader as "radical and right-wing" and "very non-mainstream" with a "very American style."

So, we may see something of this. I think it's a viable attack plan. The NDP will certainly be doing it.
