With apologies to PurityofEssence, Re: TV "Preachers", Why are these people so popular? Silly question I suppose. Same reason all the reality shows and WWF are popular I guess and the same reason why a non-elected Moron is viewed as a "simple" man of the people! When did we become a Nation of the unthinking? These TV preachers milk the unsuspecting populace who follow them, of millions, all the while living 'high off the hog', while most don't even pay taxes! They preach the evils of material wealth, while running a major con game on those who believe in their so called ' righteousness'! It doesn't take a 'rocket scientist' to know these people are as phoney as .......well GW! I am not a religious person, but even if, I were, I could plainly see through these charlatans.

they try to get those needs fulfilled through this highly emotional sort of evangelism. It's very sad, really. . .

2. These guys are con men, plain and simple

Plain and simple.
Also, they are leaders of religious "organizations", not religious denominations. There is a huge difference


If they were truly "men of God", they would live much simpler lives and not live in mansions.

As Christ said, "Avoid excess poverty and wealth. They both have problems." paraphrase, of course
