Did Tenet tell Bush about Moussaoui in Aug. 2001? Is he protecting *?

Is this why Tenet testified, incorrectly, that he did not meet or speak to Bush in August?

The CIA said he spoke to Bush in August.

Did he mention Moussaoui? I would assume he did. Why would he not mention him? After all, Richard Clarke has testified that Tenet was extremely agitated that attacks were coming.

Is Tenet protecting Bush?

Why was Tenet in Crawford on the the 24th of August, and why hasn't that visit come out in the press, yet? A clever DUer recently noted that the evidence is right on the White House server. But I haven't seen a single member of the media ask about it.

"Since they could not immediately tie him to any plot, officials detained Moussaoui on Aug. 16 on a visa violation.

The FBI in Minneapolis sought further information about Moussaoui from intelligence agencies. In late August, CIA chief George Tenet and other top CIA officials were told of the case.

Tenet was asked on Wednesday if he had ever mentioned Moussaoui's arrest to President Bush.

He said he did not tell Bush or bring it to the attention of other senior officials. A report issued by the panel earlier said Tenet had said no connection between Moussaoui and al Qaeda was apparent to him before Sept. 11."

7. I think you need to remember that Tenet is at war with the NeoCons...

...and that the NeoCons will do anything to discredit Tenet at this point in time. He has constantly bucked them on Iraqi WMDs and the alleged "connection" between Al Qaeda and Saddam. But where the line was drawn in the sand was when Valerie Plame was exposed along with her global network involved in tracking the movements of WMD materials.
