OMG! Did anyone hear Smirky quoted just now on CNN?
He was asked: How do you think history will look back on this war?

George: History? We won't know. We'll be dead.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Honest to god. Did anybody else just hear this? They were reporting on the Woodward book.
39. the danger of projecting
What proof do you have that Bush actually meant the Rapture as opposed to the more obvious explanation that we all, will in fact, die? You should qualify your remarks when you don't have the facts. While Bush may believe it, he did not add that God is the ultimate judge and S/He will decide.
Not that you're guilty of this but it's always unwise to confuse projections or distortions with proof.
13. America PLEASE send this village idiot back to Texas
I think I have to stop reading the news for a while, because every time this man opens his mouth, he sets back the cause of American democracy a few decades, it seems.
I'm certainly glad the founders of this nation were not so absolutely ignorant as the current illegal resident of the oval office.
Imagine Jefferson was drawing up the Declaration of Independence, or Madison insisting on a bill of rights. They sure as hell thought they could use their goddam human reason to conjecture what future generations in this nation would think about what they were doing and how it would be viewed in history, including the shameful great compromise which allowed the hateful southern states to keep their slaves, to the shame of this nation ever since.
George Bush, go home to Texas and fuck up some baseball team. You did not earn and do not deserve the office in which you now squat, you worthless piece of shit.
45. I live in Texas and I don't want him here
We want to send him back to Connecticut or Kennebunkport. Why is it that the prez is the only Bush family member who has a Texas accent? I also heard him use the word "rather." He said it very New Englandish and it was pronounced like father. Maybe when he's off guard, his stupid ass Texas accent fades and we hear how he talks to his mama.
So, please don't send Bush back to Texas. I mean, I'll take him here if he leaves DC and there are no other options. :)
33. This talking point has never made sense to me.
Edited on Sat Apr-17-04 01:28 PM by leftbehind
"Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's and render unto the Lord that which is the Lord's". Didn't Christ say that?
Christ may have been the first proponent of the division of church (the Lord) and state (Caesar). That being said, how exactly has Bush embraced the teachings of Christ (turn the other cheek, render unto Caesar, remove the log in your own eye (WMD) before removing the mote in your brother's (Iraq), etc.).
The list goes on and on and the bottom line is that in my opinion this is another hypocrital lie. Bush has forgotten the teachings of Christ (if he ever knew them) and has instead embraced the lies put forward by the church if he even goes this far with the window dressing of his false religiosity.
25. DAVID BROOKS-"in 20 years, no one will doubt that President Bush...
A More Humble Hawk
By DAVID BROOKS
"When I worked at The Weekly Standard, we argued ad nauseam...
Many of us also assumed, wrongly, that the administration would launch a fresh postwar initiative to globalize the reconstruction effort. My friends at the Project for the New American Century urged the U.S. to go to the U.N. for a reconstruction resolution, to build a broad coalition to aid rebuilding and to establish a NATO-led security force. That never happened.
Despite all this ? and maybe it's pure defensiveness ? I still believe that in 20 years, no one will doubt that Bush did the right thing. To his enormous credit, the president has been ruthlessly flexible over the past months and absolutely committed to seeing this through. He is acknowledging the need for more troops. He is absolutely right to embrace Lakhdar Brahimi's plan to dissolve the Governing Council and set up an interim government. This might take attention away from the U.S, and change the atmosphere in the country."
http://www.nytimes.com/2004/04/17/opinion/17BROO.html?th
ad nauseum is right... :puke:
We'll all want to be dead at rate they are going...
That this weasel has the GALL to continue to spout his inanities INFURIATES me. WHY does anyone publish him? He is nothing but a lying spokesmodel for the idiot neocons.
And this:
Now I get the sense that while the Iraqis don't want us to fail, since our failure would mean their failure, many don't want to see us succeed either. They want to see us bleed, to get taken down a notch, to suffer for their chaos and suffering.
Sadly, it is not BROOKS who bleeds. It is not BROOKS who suffers.
I heard what he said and I could not believe my ears.
How does he know that we will all be gone?
Today is today and tomorrow today will be history.
I know that he believes that he is God but did God tell him that we will all be gone by the time someone is able to write a book about this mess?
What year does he believe will be the Year of GWB's history?
I was also wondering if he is speaking just about GWB. Do you think he knows something that we don't know about his health or something?
After he is kicked out of office, he really should write a dictionary! Just with his made up words. It could be a best seller at Disneyland.
