IF Kerry wins the election and doesn't stop the slaughter...
Edited on Sun Apr-11-04 12:42 AM by HOWLIN_WOLF
in Iraq...then I for one am off this board! I will never EVER vote for a Democrat again...and trust me, I'd NEVER vote for a :puke: if my life depended on it! Kerry was mis-led... I DO believe him! That's why he agreed to go into Iraq...BUT...I honestly don't think he done enough research to bolster WHY he voted that way! He seen the slaughter in 'Nam, and I believe he has enough regard for human life to STOP this bloodlusting! I..too am a 'Nam vet...and NO... I wasn't involved in direct combat...I was stationed inThailand in the Air Force as a jet aircraft re-fueler...and let me tell you...each and every time I took a truck to bulk storage to get it re-fueled, I was scared to death that we may be hit by sniper fire! Know what would happen to a 5,000 gallon truck filled with JP-4? :nuke:

1. Perhaps you might want to wait till he actually has the job.
And please believe me when I say no one can stop the slaughter. If we stay, they will slaughter us. If we leave, each other.

Everyone but BushCo knew what the situation was in that cobbled together, unnatural nation.

But BushCo expects the world to behave like Hollywood movies. They really do. Smiling or desperate natives eager to be helped by the great white hope. Villains of finite quantities, who can be ultimately defeated so everyone can go home.

You will never forgive Kerry or the Democrats if they don't miraculously and immediately clean up George's gigantic mess? Do you believe we're electing a god? He ain't a god. And he'll have plenty against him, especially if the Congress is still Republican. But you'll blame the Democrats?

See ya.

2. Kerry won't be able to perform miracles
Bush has created such a huge mess in Iraq. And people don't talk about it, but I think there are problems in Afghanistan as well.

9. Some people talk about it
Seymour Hersh has an article in this week's New Yorker entitled "The other war - why Afghanistan is going badly."

4. I remember quite well what Bill Clinton did...
to right the world after 12 years of tyranny and mutation! I frankly believe that John Kerry has the ability to do this too! Look...these Fascist thugs are MURDERER'S! The Republican party of IKE no longer exists! It's all about I...ME and...MY! This is NOT what America is about! These MURDEROUS THUGS need to be brought before a court of law and punished for their MURDERING...EVIL...DEEDS!

5. Kerry as a young man
After watching Kerry's debate on the Dick Cavett Show from the early 70's, and his testimony before Congress about the Vietnam war, I can't believe that he won't do everything possible to stop this madness - and hopefully he'll have some strong foreign policy people on his team.

We need to get control of Congress - talk about madness! So even if Bush gets elected, they can impeach him.

8. I know how you feel
I've been leaning towards the greens for some time now. I'll give Kerry my vote this round just to get bunnypants out of office. He needs to pull out US corporate interests, turn those contracts over to the Iraqis (who underbid the US megacorps in the first place), appeal to the UN to take the lead in overseeing the post war rebuilding, and turn the government over to the Iraqis, not to the puppet government that the US has installed. That means letting the Iraqis elect the government they want, NOT the government that is in the best interest of the US.

I'll vote Socialist next time...providing we are still allowed to vote! Listen...they have a man by the name of Bill VanAuken running this year who is very intelligent and well versed on the situation. LISTEN UP MY FRIENDS...these guys are AMERICANS...NOT RUSSIANS...go here and check it out! www.wsws.org I'm trying to hang on and believe in the party that my family has backed from the time I was a little kid...although my grandparents voted for IKE, but how could one say NO to the man who won WWII for ya? PLUS... he was the last DECENT Republican to hold office!

Win Without War, Andew's organization.

But you mean to tell me that a sitting Congressman cannot call for an international summit? I don't see why not.

was completely misrepresented. I said Kerry should call for or support a summit not "conduct foreign policy on his own"

21. Article II, Section 2
of the constitution clearly places the responsibility for foreign policy in the hands of the Executive branch.

conduct, no.

edit: that means he's free to call upon President Bush to convene such a summit. Convening it himself is probably a no-no.

19. Good post...
Iraq was bullshit. At the least Kerry needs to get the UN in. I've yet to see how he stands on economic and social issues but from what I've seen I believe he'll prolly bow before a Republican minority in the house.
