At the mall today.. a reminder
i was at a popular clothing store at a local mall today, and got behind two young guys in line (i'd guess 18 or 19)... they looked like they should be enjoying spring break or something, enjoying life, chasing girls, etc.

well, one of the boys was on crutches... he only had one leg.

i wondered if he was a returning soldier... then a minute later, i heard him talking with the cashier about how he was glad he was buying shorts now and didn't have to worry about pant legs... that led into the discussion about how it happened, and he mentioned that he was recently back from iraq.

i know i'm preaching to the choir here, but today was just a sad reminder of ALL the tragedies from bushco.'s war -- not just the 640 dead americans, but the thousands of soldiers injured and/or maimed. not to mention the countless iraqi death and injuries.

all these lives destroyed... because of bushco.'s big lie.

2. Met a guy at the Echo lounge with one arm about a month ago
He was just back from Iraq, had a kind of hook he was trying to get used to. I bought him a shot, just really made it all hit home for me.

3. Unless these guys start speaking out, it will go on and on. Their
service is not over until they start supporting the Constitution they swore to defend by speaking out against the anti-Constitutional Bush mal-administration.

5. ... and also the wounds that don't show
Edited on Sat Apr-10-04 08:21 PM by Lisa
There are going to be thousands of people who won't feel like going to watch the 4th of July fireworks this year, because the explosions will remind them of ... something else.

p.s. and of course, the Bush Administration has seen fit to reward all these servicepeople by cutting back VA funding. Can't beat that for "supporting the troops".
