You know what I love about conservatives?
Their complete lack of understanding reality. They live their lives based on "what things should be like" not what they are.

Examples:

Conservatives shouls face up to a few things
A: The middle east doesn't want to be like America.
B: Sorry, but social programs and welfare ARE a must. (Hey you think I want to see people be given free money? No. But some need it.)
C: Health care SHOULD be supplied by the government, Why? Because what is the point of a structured society if we don't take care of each other. If the government claims ownership of you (which in a way they do at birth by making you a citzen of the country you're in without consulting you) they should take care of your health.
D: If liberalism is so stupid: How come first world countries like Canada, and many in Europe have such a better quality of life, lower crime etc...
E: Guns do kill people dumbass. Your theory of everyone having one to scare others into leaving them alone is complete idiocy.

ANy to ad folks?

1. Education...
Edited on Fri Apr-09-04 07:54 PM by Van Helsing
it should be made available to all those who want it, free of charge, despite repukes wanting it for the elite.

Add that one to the list. :)

2. It's the curse of all those business-school grads of the 80s
Nobody knew anything when they graduated.

Just smug in their Reagan/Laffer ignorance.

6. I'd say that stronger. Education...
Education is absolutely essential to produce qualified citizenry to capably analyze and judge in the democratic process. since we are a democratic republic it is mandatory that we educate our citizenry to be capable to rule themselves. otherwise it is essentially treason to deprive the people from the opportunity of being capable to adequately participate in the process.

when education breaks down democracy becomes a tyranny.

5. The problem is that they don't see it as racism
They see it as "the way of things" or some other inane saying. They completely fail to see the root cause of poverty and economic inequities among urban, largely African American areas and immigrant populations.

4. I work in a welfare office, and the equation is really simple...
...I would rather give money to a client with a pen in his hand in my office, than to a client with a gun in his hand in the street next to my office. (I am sure there is a smoother way to express that, but I have had a long week of giving money to people...)
Also, living in a tourist area, I am seeing people just like me buying more stuff than I can because they are paid in Euros and I work for dollars...Orlando is like a third world bargain to them!

The current administration is not conservative.
