I think its entirely plausible that the WH let Condi get on the stand and "let slip" August 6th if the actual August 6th PDB is known to be (or was made to be) the alibi doc. Then they could point to that doc and say "see, there you go, what we've been saying all the time".

The Bushies resisted giving the PDB to the commission in the first place and Condi did not look happy when she was being questioned about it. What Bush is counting on is that even when released, most people will not understand the memo and may buy his spin.

If it were historical, then it would have just been a rehash of what the Bush Administration received in January 2001. That is what historical means, correct? And if it was a rehash/historical account, then it vindicates the Clinton Administration, because the Bush Administration was amply forewarned that Bin Ladin planned to attack on U.S. soil.
