Now we have religious warfare brewing with our attacks on the Shiites, how long will it be before this spreads across national borders? Isn't Iran made up mostly of Shiites and aren't we looking really really hard to find a way to attack Iran and Syria also? I suspect We are not as stupid as we appear. This is planned IMHO and it won't be long until we need to cross into Iran to capture escaped Clerics or to stop Support for the Shiite clerics. The overthrow of Saddam had nothing to do with religion and we could find no connection to Al Qaeda so we need some other excuse to invade Iran and Syria. A Religious uprising would serve the purpose nicely. PNAC will be served no matter what and it will have to happen soon before we throw the thugs out. I guess I could be considered a cynic

That they want unrest so they can delay the handover date while saving face.

Personally I have this wacky conspiracy theory that people are pissed off about us killing their familes so they want us out and are willing to come together to get rid of us.

2. I think this is not the plan...

I suspect they wanted to have a puppet gov't up and running, oil production under control, and nice safe bases to replace the ones we moved out of in Saudi... Don't think any of those have happened.
