In Defense of Drunken Sailors

Senator McCain, referring to members of congress and their pork barrel frenzy said "they are spending like drunken Sailors." Wrong, Senator McCain. The Sailors to whom you refer were spending THEIR OWN MONEY.

And after we spent our money on beer and whores, we got a few hours sleep and went back to our duty stations and proudly served and stood watch off the coast of God knows where. And when I see the Flag flying, I don't see something I can wrap myself in and instantly become a patriotic badass.

As a former drunken Sailor, I have no desire to be compared to members of congress.

I spent my own money on booze when I served. And when I didn't have enough $$$$, I tried to win some in a crap game, like any respectable swabbie.
