ARE YOU ANGRY......AND IS THE COUNTRY GETTING ANGRY?
I haven't been this pissed since Vietnam. And the polls seem to be coming around to show support for Bush's Vietnam to be dwindling. ARE YOU ANGRY?

2. Well yes
But mostly between about 2:30 and 4:30. That's my angry time. I spend most of the rest of my day cheerfully depressed.

9. RFOLMAO-
I've been on sleeping pills because my anger won't let me sleep since December of this year. I can't wait for Kerry to take office, I will be able to sleep with aids and work without worrying my job will be outsourced. Until then...hell yeah I'm angry.

27. I haven't been able to get to sleep either,
I was up until 2:30am last night just stewing in my head about all the injustice in the world, most of it complements of the Bush Administration.

Usually I can fall right to sleep, but I have been so angry lately I just feel like taking it out on anyone who is within 5 feet of me. I haven't in reality, only in my head, but I am visiting my sister this weekend and her Freeper husband.

I already warned her to tell him not to start in with me (he is such a flaming, die-hard monkey boy supporter) but I am really afraid if he does that I might physically attack him - in a bad way.

7. We may be, but sadly....
most of the country isn't. Unless their favorite reality show character got fired, kicked off the island, or didn't get a rose.

Most people don't care, and unless catastrophe is personalized, they won't.

I'm pissed, but most of the Murkan Sheeple could give a shit. until somebody they know comes home maimed, or dead, or their favourite non-celebrity got "Kicked off The ISLAND"....

It's not been easy today, looking at all these kids running around campus, wondering how many of them will be dead a year or two from now if Shrub gets re-appointed...

and like will pitt says, anger is a gift. i see it as a good thing that liberals are finally so fed up and angry that they might get up off their lazy asses and swing a few punches at those who attack them.

the time for appeasement and understanding and objectivity is over.
it's time for a real revolution, which we are constitutionally entitled to

look at photos of every single atrocity we can find...including our own poor soldiers. Also make him attend every funeral and apologize and mourn with all the grieving families and explain why they had to loose their sons or daughters because of his lies and political and economic ambitions. At least he'll have nightmares for the rest of his life. Second thought...maybe he wouldn't because you have to have feelings, intelligence, compassion and empathy to feel remorse. This man has none. YES, I AM ANGRY! VERY, VERY ANGRY! We have all been duped...(and some people still are) this man is nothing but a cunning con man and belongs in jail.

17. I'm asking my employer to stop singing 'America the Beautiful.'
Edited on Wed Apr-07-04 09:13 AM by JohnOneillsMemory
I'm the touring audio engineer for a singing group that has 'America the Beautiful' on its set list for the last three years.

I'm so disgusted by the nationalist propaganda blinding this country that I'm asking the band and singers to take it out of the show.

My concern is that some teenager will believe the false 'patriotic' sentimentalism and sign up with the military to kill and be killed.

I don't want to make some 'patriotic' kid a target or a weapon by whipping up red-white-and-blue propaganda like Leni Reifenstahl making the film 'Triumph of the Will' for Hitler.

19. a cycle of anger/rage/despair/
what pisses me off the most, is that the same people who supported this war, are the same ones who remain oblivious to casualty counts, treatment of veterans, or dead Iraqi kids. They don't even follow the day to day events in Iraq, yet they had freakin' yard signs "Liberate Iraq" in their front lawns. I swear, if I see one of them now, I will stop my car and smash the thing against a tree.

35. There are two kinds of anger, one is not helpful at all, and one ...
...changes everything.

I'm not angry out of hate, I'm not feeling feelings of violence or "wrath." I do not have the anger of losing my temper and losing my "top." I do not have the anger that is so devoid of rationality that it is pure emotionalism. I am not angry in a way that promotes as much fanaticism or miltantism as the people that I am angry against.

The kind of anger I have is a different anger. Though it may sound a bit self-serving, I'd like to call it a "holy" anger, or a "righteous indignation." I am not angry because I am filled with hate - I am angry, righteously indignant because I am the cries of the American people and the world for JUSTICE are ignored, and mocked by this Administration. I have a righteous indignation because the cries of the oppressed and the needs of the people are ignored and marginalized. I am have a righteous indignation at what I see is the tyranny of the Administration. My anger is partnered with my compassion for the victims of this oppression, as well as my sorrow over the destruction caused by this administration.

I think, when "anger" becomes detached from reason, logic, compassion, sorrow, and a commitment to equality, social justice, civil liberties and freedom, it becomes litter more than "blind rage" for blind rage's sake. And that helps no one.

However, anger that is fueled by logic, compelled by the demand for equality, driving by the cries for justice, motivated by commitment to civil liberties and ignited in the defense of freedom, it because more and just empty ranting ramblings, more than rhetoric, and becomes truly revolutionary.

So sure, get angry. But make that anger really count. :)
