5. Winning the hearts and minds.......

Another thing that sickens me is when that freaking idiot, that ignorant little piss ant of a man in the oval office insists on calling the Iraqi resisters terrorists. The US can bomb homes , kill men, women and children , shoot protesters and stack up Iraqi bodies like cord-wood and those doing it are brave soldiers but when the Iraqi civilians rise up to attack the far superior forces of the occupiers they are terrorists. You can't have it both way a**hole, it's a war or it isn't.

7. same planet, different worlds
with all this horror going on, we eat toast points and ham.

bush is the perfect symbol of a man totally removed from all the horror he is causing, smiling, fundraising, smirking, but a man who has priorities other than picking up a rifle and helping out.

23. The Good Ole Days...
Seems like Clinton couldn't take a week in August, and then there were the pictures of him on a yacht off Cape Cod or dancing with Hillary by a waterfall...stuff that made it seem like he was sloffing off on the public's dime.

This boy's been keeping a very, very low profile lately...only trotted out for well-orchestrated photo-ops and campaign fundraisers. Everything is carefully scripted, and if it's not portrayed on the tube the way the regime wants it, it threatens that mighty "access" card.

With Clinton, when shit hit, he was right there with words...always well chosen and showing he was up on what was going on. With Bunnypants, don't expect a quick response...it's gotta be written, then rehearsed and rewritten and rerehearsed...that's why it takes 6 hours before the boy blunder can address anything.

Plus, isn't that about the average sober up time?

25. Remember...Compartmentalize
I could barely pronounce it, but NPR used it all the time...the ability for Clinton to focus on a specific issue despite all the other crap circling around him. Wag the dog, my ass! Damned then that he did, damned now that he didn't.

The Clinton's didn't own their first real home until Hillary bought the place in Chappauqua (pissing off my a-hole ex-cousins) and then they caught crap just securing the damn loan. Sheesh.

As I say, you know when shit hit, Clinton was there with a well measured statement. I was thinking how he'd react to the events of the past couple days, but then I know he'd never have gotten us there in the first place.

Cheers.

20. Echoes of Nam
Whenever there was a conflict where Americans solidiers were killed, some commander in the field would give the enemy body counts which were always greater than the American dead, as though that was some sign of progress.

And then some other commander would talk about how we were going to bomb the Ho Chi Minh trail to take out the supplies of the insurgents (which were actually NVA regulars), and take the fight to the enemy. Just like the commander this morning on CNN saying this "insurgency" would not stand and we would respond with precision and overwhelming force.

The only difference between Iraq and VietNam is that one is a desert, and the other is a jungle. We are fighting a people who have tens of thousands of reasons to hate us (the innocent lives we have destroyed with "precision" bombing and "accidental" shootings, and are joining together to make us pay the deadly cost of being an occupying army.
