Want to see CNN bias?

Turn it on right now.

Condi Rice is testifying before the committee on Thursday so what does CNN air? A puff piece of course!

Talking about how amazing Condi is as a person, how she was raised in the "Jim Crowe" south, etc....etc...

1. Condi was raised in the "Jim Crowe" south??
Maybe that explains why she's so fucked up.

4. Well...she is testifying...

And they decide to humanize her and make her look more admirable to the public.

Draw whatever conclusions from that you would like.

6. Not that I want to defend Condi
but Jim Crow would still have been around when she was little.

I'm a year older than her and I can remember visting cousins in Missouri when I was about 5 and seeing signs by something - maybe drinking fountains - I think that said 'white' and 'colored'. I remember having to ask my parents what it meant. I was little enough to wonder if it referred to what came out of the fountains. As I recall my dad did not seem especially comfortable explaining it to me. I also remember my cousin telling me we couldn't go the swimming pool one day because that was the day the "coloreds" used it. (He has since become more enlightened.)

9. I was going to start off with "not to defend Condi" too
:D

I'm 47, and was born in Virginia.

My dad took us to the drive in to see "Jack the Giant Killer". On the way home, my dad turned the corner sharply and the door wasn't shut tightly, and I fell out.

Years later we were talking about it (I wasn't hurt), and my dad said that at that time the drive in was segregated. There was a white drive in and a black drive in.

I was about 6 or 7 at the time -- too young to notice or even care.

The point is Jim Crow wasn't that long ago.

14. Jim Crow

Again...not to defend...but

She was raised in Alabama, and legal Jim Crow in Alabama existed well into the the 60's. Jim Crow as a practical reality endured even longer.

11. Nice list of contacts
We all need to send them a note asking them to demonize Condi to help balance the odds. There is no excuse for them to portray this woman as human and they should point out all her flaws like has been done here.
