battle has been going on for over 2 hours. He can't tell what or exactly where but a defifnite firefight for over two hours punctuated by low thuds.

Now reporting that the fighting is NOT in Sadr city it is in "sector 52" and there is also a "heavy battle" raging at the airport.

1. Just think! They couldn't do this under Saddam! Isn't it great?!
I guess the Iraqis are just expressing the "messy" aspects of their newfound democracy.

2. Airport? Airport?
If we lose the airport we are in deep, deep shit, gang. Pray for our troops, who were put in harm's way by a cabal of criminals!

3. The whole broadcast is filled with tension
very chilling, very enlightening, total reality check. Thank you KIRO and Dave Ross.

Wonder if Rush would ever do a live broadcast from Baghdad?

Something is definitly going on outside the studio, it sounds like they are close to the fighting.

17. ALOT of gunfire
This is truly frightening.

The hypocritical chicken hawks rush and hannity would have have wet themselves while they leave bootprints on the faces of anyone who got in the way of the first plane outa there.

7. Dave, stay safe, and our troops, COME HOME NOW!
Dave Ross, dangit, you told EVERYONE that you would be perfectly safe. Get out NOW before you can't get home! I love the Dave man, but is he NUTS?

In the meantime, let's bring the men and women of our military HOME. Bunnypants' lust for cheap oil is not worth their lives!

9. I know, Dave Ross, COME HOME
I am seriously worried about him. I hope this wakes up Dori Monson and Lou Pate (RW hosts on KIRO.) I think they all have affection for Dave. He is a local radio icon.

15. From your lips...
>I hope this wakes up Dori Monson and Lou Pate (RW hosts on KIRO.)<

Why do I have the sickening feeling that Monson would consider it a better time slot?

Both Monson and Pate will never turn their backs on the RW, even if they're wrong. It's financial security for them.

The shooting is stressing me out!

22. julie julie julie LMAO!!!

-----Why do I have the sickening feeling that Monson would consider it a better time slot?------

There is nothing Dori wouldn't do for ratings, and i mean NOTHING, as he proved during the Clinton witch hunt. Nothing like playing an uncredited role in the vast right wing conspiracy. heh heh..... Wonder if Clinton was allowed to do his job, would this thread even exist? Why doesn't Dori do a show on that?

20. Unfortunately, there is no web broadcast.
Which is odd as KIRO is the most listened to station in the NW.

here is the website, http://kiro710.com

21. Mari, Dave is keeping a blog
The show was being broadcast from a hotel balcony, not in a studio.

I think there's a little hope for Lou Pate (although he strikes me as a bit of a racist.) He does support gay marriage, and has a great rapport with Mike Webb. Dori Monson - probably not.

Maybe we should all petition KIRO to stream.
