2. Dean Meetup Report

From Bloomington/Normal, Illinois (pop. about 100,000 - typically votes about 60% Rep.)

Last night's meetup was the second here - 6 showed up in July and 12 showed up last night. We're a college town (2 universities) so are expecting significantly more in September.

Demographics:

1 of the hosts is a registered Republican
At least 2 independents
A local union officer
A poli. sci. university professor
Age range from 18 to 50's
Pretty evenly balanced gender-wise

Accomplishments:

Setup a letter-to-the-editor letter writing plan for our region - including Peoria, Champaign/Urbana

Plan for Dean supporters attending the annual local Democratic Party fundraiser with plenty of Dean material to share

Plan for carpooling to Dean appearance in Chicago

Logistics for next meetup - location, name tags, camera, etc.



Lots of enthusiasm! We're here and it's only August! That is truly what is still amazing me.
