LOL! The kid behind Bush*!
CNN just showed the clip from Letterman last night. That boy was yawning and everything wishing Bush's speech was over. I love it!

4. Where did you hear this?
It looked real to me. The man next to him was reacting nervously to his presence.

6. Kyra said it was basically a fake.
That the kid was there, just not directly behind the shrubbery.

9. The kid was NEXT to Chimpy.
To the side of Chimpy, but on the stage with him in front.

11. Why are you being so stubborn?
It was a great piece of video editing. Accept it for what it was, laugh and move on. It doesn't have to be real to be hysterically funny.

19. Why am *I* the stubborn one?
I don't believe it was a fake video. It would be incredibly hard to superimpose that one kid over the crowd on the podium.

I don't believe what CNN says when it is defending the Smirk from being a boring asshole.

That's all.

7. The CNN anchor person said so just after the presentation. The one
that's on now. A female, I can't recall her name.

10. Ah, so the CNN talking head said it was fake.
It MUST be real, then.

20. We'll see if Jon Stewart uses it. The "Daily Show" would pick it up if
it's real.

17. double hahaha
Phillips is, after all, the one who stood on the deck of the USS Lincoln and shrieked at the pilots (who were, um, sort of busy taking off) to "wave for the cameras".

It was THE most disgusting media act of cheerleading in the entire war.

14. It's incredibly hard to composite video
Unless the kid was video taped against a perfectly lit green screen. Everything about it makes me think it was real. You can't easily superimpose a single audience memeber over a backdrop. It is digitally possible (see Forrest Gump), but it's not something Letterman's staff could pull off.

It was either completely faked, or not faked at all. If it was faked, Letterman would have said so.

5. Why do you think it's not real?
I saw it on Letterman last night too. It looked real to me.

What's your source on it NOT being real?

18. The CNN anchor woman didn't say it was fake, but
she alluded to some readjusting from the Letterman people. But it definitely looked real to me. No big deal though, just DAMN funny. I cracked up.

8. Letterman's been good lately
I've loved his "George W. Bush Tries to Look Interested" clips. They all show what a vacant, dipshitty doofus he is.

16. Who was the knucklehead that brought a kid
to the front of a political rally. He looked like an average bored kid fidgeting in church.

22. Letterman needs to have him on the show
Sporting his "W" baseball cap. He could have the kid narrate as they replay the video, "And here is where I really had to take a pee, I thought I'd pee my pants."
