The Family Steering Committee demands the appearance of National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice under oath in a public hearing immediately. We believe that testifying before the Commission in a public forum is Ms. Rice’s moral obligation given her responsibility as National Security Advisor to protect our nation. The death of nearly 3000 innocent people warrants such a moral precedent.

We further request Richard Clarke, Samuel Berger, Brent Scowcroft, and Deputy National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley also be present, under oath, and made part of the same panel as Dr. Rice.

We have attached a list of questions that must be addressed during this hearing. In addition to these questions, we would also appreciate the reconciliation of various issues that were raised on behalf of Mr. Clarke during this past week’s hearings. Furthermore, we would request the examination and discussion of the following issues:

I wouldn't put it quite that way though... more like they defied the public will by refusing to testify, then the public won. Each time the administration has tried to ignore the will of the American people, the American people have forced them to pay attention whether they like it or not.

just said that Rice's testimony will screw the Dems, that she will be a credible witness and that the Dems walked right into the mousetrap. I can't help but believe that. She will lie and get away with it and so will the * and Cheney, the media will trump up their testimony and the hard questions will not be asked, the right side of the commission will feed them the answers and the sheeple will believe them, I think this was a set up. If the "administration is willing to be so up front" then they must be telling the truth.

The official said the decision is conditioned on the Bush administration receiving assurances in writing from the commission that such a step does not set a precedent, said the official speaking on condition of anonymity. It appeared the administration already had such assurances verbally in private and is confident it get them in writing.
