If Bush's predecessor had been a Republican, who would he blame everything
on?

The Reagan advice was "Republicans don't say anything bad about other Republicans".

Based on that theory, what would Bush do? Who would be his scapegoat?

3. Actually, they are blaming LBJ.

Whenever Halliburton is mentioned, the right-wingers start screeching about Brown and Root under LBJ.

Edited to add: Remember the Los Angeles riots under Bush I? Since they came at the end of 12 years of Republican rule, he had to stretch way back to the 60s to find someone to blame. And he did! Bush's entire comment about the Los Angeles riots of the early 1990s were that they were the fault of "failed social policies of the 1960s."

I always thought it was one reason he lost to Clinton.

6. Some truth there but
Halliburton expanded under Cheney and became even more corrupt when they took over Dresser. KB&R is just a part of the pile. The Rethugs don't own corruption, they just excel at it.

4. Bush will never ever accept responsibility!
He never has in his personal or political life. If it wasn't someone else responsible, it would be unimportant and God has made it right so forget the past.
