A&M regents approve 21 percent tuition increase

See this is how you control a population. First, awhile back when I lived in Texas you send Senators and Congresspeeps all over the state spouting the benefits of a lottery. They said tuitions would go way way down. Never happened. Then later you deregulate state college tuitions

"The Legislature deregulated tuition last year, giving universities the authority to raise tuition as needed."

freeing up state funds for other things. Now you have a system where the upper middle-class and bush family members can afford college, leaving a working class and field labor for the oilmen of Texas to move around like chess pieces.

"My dream was to come to this university, graduate and get an Aggie ring," said Juston Thompson, a junior agricultural student. "But there's no way I'll be able to afford this increase."

Now with all that homeland security money being taken from everyones wallet and the money needed to do Air force One flybys at NASCAR events the states are getting less funding for things like ummmm education. I'm wondering what the conservative majority student body thinks now? Think they'll like the tax increases in Texas because of limited funding to coming from Washington?

I say anyone who wants to go to college should go, free period. How many educations could be paid for with the price of one smart bomb? Could a kid go one semester with the price paid Halliburton for the plastic turkey?
