Poll question: How Does Bush Define a Small Business
Yesterday, Bush once more went on and on about how he is for small business and how the tax cuts are helping small business. Well, how do you think Bush defines small businesses and who do you think got the lion’s share of tax cuts.

1. Read, or heard, yesterday that the majority of "Small Biz Owners' make...

...between 40 and 60 thousand dollars a year from said "Small Business".

The "Professional Small Businesses" are something like 5% of the total and are Physicians, Attorneys and CPA's for those guys.

Two incomes would change the household total but, once again, the second income is typically less so they still are likely to fall under the top 10% in income and almost always out of the top 2%.

3. Reading "Fraud", I just passed by that small business lie...
let me find it...

It's all Orwellian double-speak (What Waldman calls "Orwellian Misdirection"). It's rhetoric to mask the giveaways to the super-wealthy. Bush, in 2001 said that there are more than 17.4 Million small-business owners and entrepeneurs who stand to benefit from dropping the top rate from 39.6% to 33%.

BZZZ! WRONG! First, the Treasury Dept. lied about the numbers. They said "many" of the 17.4M business owners paid the top rate, Bush said "ALL" of them pay the top rate. The fact is, that 1.4% of the country's small business owners pay the top rate. According to the book (when it was written), only 180,000 small businesses, not 17.4% paid the top rate.
