These tiny drones should be outlawed by international law!!!
Talk about WMDs? These are the worse WMDs because they can spread toxins and perform kills that can be blamed on other people as well as kill many people who would have absolutely no defenses against this. Isn't it enought that Israel has F-16s, bulldozers, missiles, cluster bombs to fight against rocks, should launched missiles, and homemade bombs? If there is no human cry against this we all get what we deserve. It will open the door for China and others to have them too. I simply do not want to live in a world where mini-drones, with mini-nukes are flying around. Talk about terrorism?

1. Hmmm - It is a sort of a scary concept

They could make these things by the thousands for little expense, but I suspect the military won't be painting them a bright yellow, too easy to spot.

Painted black for night time, a mix of blue and white for daytime, no-one would ever be able to see the things!

Your right, they could be used just like cluster bombs with wings, propeller and a guidance system, and certain toxins don't require a whole lot to be lethal.

Not that they would ever DO such a thing . . .

3. Sure.
I never understood suicide bombers. It's like someone who goes on a message board and tries to cause as much trouble as they can before they get banned or deleted. It's good that brave people get up and move on after these incidents, unswayed by these tactics.

9. Causing trouble by reporting the truth?
I guess that's true. Just ask Richard Clarke. But some of us are still not intimidated.

5. What makes them not toy airplanes
They look like kids toys. Heck, i used to have one of those tiny
petrol-powered remote airplanes you launch with a giant rubber
band... (i crashed it, and we never good enough with balsa wood and
"dope" to repair it)... but that was then.

Now they tape a video camera on the nose and voila - UAV. If you
ever visit a model (remote) airplane show, you'll be blown away at
how many tiny aircraft can be tightly controlled... and how civilians
have had access to this stuff for several decades.

I could probably make you an effective UAV with a model aircraft
and a simple transmitter. THen a kilo of semtex and its a missile.

What a great idea (depending on who you are)! These things will
only get smaller and more plentiful.

We are on the cusp of a post-nuclear dark age. Enjoy electricity
while you have it.

7. 2 things - one - I actually HAD one of those rubber-banded WMD's !
.

.

And as for enjoying electricity while we have it, last summer, NOT thinking of the world's tenuous existence, but rather to enjoy some of my "toys" during my extended camping tours, - I invested almost $1,000 in solar panels, batteries, inverters and efficient lighting.

Methinks I'll "upgrade" this summer, because IF (or should I say when?) the terrorists let all hell break loose (I don't think we've seen them reach their potential yet) one of the favorite targets would have to be nuclear power plants . . .

And my particular province gets 45% of it's electricity from nuclear sources.

Yup, next "toys" are going to be in the "survival" category I'm afraid.
