2. Yeah, he did!
And his speech was good, I just saw it on MSNBC following Bush's. Really gives quite the contrast between the two. Bush blustering around on about 20 different topics, Kerry clear and concise on the reasons and plans to act on economics. As well as a statement of being willing to debate tax issues "anytime, anyplace, anywhere" with Bush! I really like that he says "I will" in his speeches instead of "we need to". Quite the sense of accountability there. I hope a lot of people left him on after they watched Bush (gag!)

3. Since Smirky is not sticking to the "war on terra..."
the Clarke statements have obviously gotten to him. They're going to have him try a whole range of topics based on their focus groups, but none of it will work!

4. Did anyone else notice that Bush* actually had the nerve to claim...
that we have "lower unemployment than in the 70's, the 80's and the 90's"?

I could not believe he actually said that in his speech today.

Bet no one calls him on it, either.

5. The current rate may be lower than the rate at various points in the past,
but he's generalizing wildly there, and certainly the actual number of unemployed persons is higher than in the past.

It also ignores the fact that a great many have given up on unemployment because they know there aren't many jobs available in this economy.

I'm sure Bush just forgot to include that information, and will correct the mistake in his next speech. *waits for hell to freeze over :eyes:*

6. I hope Kerry or someone in his campaign, Wes, Howard, John, Bill, Al,
Dennis, Dick, someone answer this before it gathers steam. * is such a liar, but he knows that people don't have the curiosity or intellience to find out the truth. Simple, his people are like him, no guts, no intelligence and no curiosity.

7. The "lower unemployment" is just legalese.
I'm sure they've got some dweebs toiling away at statistics to "prove" their point Ñ hoping that no one will notice that it's all just percentages.

The POPULATION of the U.S. is higher than it was in the 70s, 80s & 90s, so if you are looking stricktly at the unemployed as a percentage of the total population, then it probably is lower than in those years.

9. We have a lower unemployment rate than during the Great Depression,
too. What's he trying to say? Everyday is relative to the day before. Are you better off now than you were four years ago? Simple question, simple answer.
