When are the first primaries?

1. Well, the Iowa caucus is in January.

I believe the DC primary is actually before that. NH is shortly after Iowa, and then things really heat up in February and March 2nd.

3. NH's is first

by state law (or is it in their state constitution?) It's usually in February but keeps creeping up. Next year it's on January 27.

It's the Iowa caucuses that come first. It's not a primary. It's on January 19, 2004.
