How's this for an activism idea!
set up a small radio transmitter that talks about your candidate or issue. Maybe play sound clips from newscasts, and then on the sign on your front lawn or on your car tell people to tune into your station to learn more. This will be especially effective if you are near a busy street.

Every local electronics store sells personal radio transmitters. They are designed to plug into your MP3 player and allow you to listen to MP3's in your car.

No one ever said that your MP3's have to be music. Instead set up a quick 15 second commercial and set your player on loop. Then get a bumper-sticker or one of those car window or door signs instructing people to...
"Tune in to hear ______ at 88.1 FM".

The standard transmitter has a range of only 50-100 feet, which would work fine for stop 'n go traffic, but you could probably even find a "suped-up" one online. Although, 50 feet should be plenty of range for the guy sitting behind you in traffic or driving past your house...

I'm sure everyone has seen that group of people standing near every major intersection in town. You know, those people holding up red & blue signs for one candidate or another. Well, put your MP3 player and your personal radio transmitter in your pocket and stand next to them. Everyone is already looking in that direction; just make yourself stick out with a bright yellow sign that says "Tune in to hear _______ at 88.1 FM".

Now, everyone driving by will be so curious that they will have to listen to a message about your website.

(paraphrased from a website traffic generating idea...)

1. If you try it out, let us know how it goes, and tell us
If you try it out, let us know how it goes, and tell us what equipment we would need to buy, then some of us might try it.

2. that pesky FCC might have issue with your idea.
I don't know what the limit is on transmissions.. but it's very low.

3. They're sold commercially with ranges up to 50 ft.
I remember listening to a friend of mine's CD player while I followed him in my car. They work pretty well.

4. I have toyed with suggesting

that each DU member print off at least 10 piece of campaign material. Say something that points out all of the Bush lies.

Just 10 pieces of paper each day and then leave them where you can, car windshields, on a table at the diner, hand them out as you go to work.

If only 500 would do that between now and election day, we could saturate the market. 5000 times approximately 200 days that would be 1,000,000 pieces of campaign material by election day.

If a 1,000 DU would do that, it would be 10,000 time approximately 200 days that would be 2,000,000

Think of what it would mean if all 25, 000 or so DUers did that?
