Do you think Tweety has lost his mind?
I was flipping channels last night and he had on a Republican whore, and the most bizarre thing came out of Tweety's mouth. He said, "If UBL is caught between now and November, no one will care what really happened on 9/11". That's right, he actually said that no one will care that * let the country be attacked.

Either he has gone insane, or is actually on Rove's payroll. I am tending to the former. I think his obsession with Bush in the flight suit has caused him to lose touch with reality altogether. What do you think?

1. That might have been true a week ago, but a lot has changed in a week.
For one thing, we're learning that Osama may not have made a difference in the 9/11 attacks. That's because there are more Osamas out there and I think Rice & Bush are going to sustain a lot of political damage between now and the elections in their bid to sell us the perception that they can protect us from terrorism -- especially since they supported and still support the Iraq War.

4. That's my point
If it turns out that 9/11 was preventable, nothing will save Bush. Why would Matthews make such an absurd statement?

10. Perhaps because he's part of the beltway and they are more about
spinning or influencing other people's opinions, than they are about getting down to the germ of the truth.

Keep in mind that Matthews gave Bush a free pass prior to the 2000 election, while he pulled a full frontal attack on Gore. Matthews explained that it was the media's responsibility to press harder on the incumbents, than on the challengers. And just a few months ago, he admitted he voted for Bush.

So, why is he now giving Bush, an incumbent, another free pass? Maybe because Matthews enjoys the money he gets from working on his knees.

13. Because that is what the media is going to try to get the public
to believe. If you repeat the statement over and over again, it becomes true. This has been their MO from day 1. They are going to sell this pitch to the public. You will hear ALL of them saying it over and over again.

3. I think it's crazy
That anyone could claim that if we catch OBL, no one will care. It won't bring family and friends back, it won't put New York back how it used to be, it won't take the fear and anger out of everyone. It's not a fix, and I don't see how anyone can claim that it would be. Ridiculous.

8. Who cares -- nobody's watching anyway...
Chris Matthews is inconsequential. He's a loudmouth twit who most of America wouldn't even recognize if they saw his face -- and they'd get sick of him quite quickly if they heard his carnival barking for ten consecutive seconds.

9. Observation
Unless Dems get out there and get talking up what Clarke said and other such revelations coming out of this investigation, Tweety may just be right on the mark. Right now, no one's vote has changed in America. The right is still cheering for Bush and booing Clarke. The left is waving around Clarke's statement and cheering to bring Bush down. If Osama is caught, not now, but a number of months by now, there will be a certain percentage of people cheering against Bush who will drift over to the "Bush is da' great leader" side. That's why we have to get up on this poney and ride it now and we are just letting it slip by. We have to take advantage of these moments and not just sit around in meetings trying to figure out how to raise money.

Ritalin or some other medication for ADHD. He's impossible to follow 'cause he talks with spit and salvia foaming out of his mouth from talking so fast. He's ridiculous.

Edited on Thu Mar-25-04 01:41 PM by emulatorloo
making fun of him, saying how outrageous Condi and re-elect claims were

- how the attacks on clarke were like stalinist USSR and just the same as on O'Neill.
- how do you guys get the talking points of the day? Does the tom tom beat start really early in the day, etc etc

This question seemed like more of the same torment
