I found this page on DU a couple of months back and took the liberty of mirroring the site because of the fear that Angelfire would whack it because of too much bandwidth usage. Well apparently that happened. The Angelfire site is gone.

I assigned it a new URL, http://elenaschernobyl.com and added some comments below ...

Since I mirrored the site, I've had about 40 thousand hits in a little over 1 month. Amamzing..Plus I have received hundreds of emails from folks from all over the world. Needless to say I am stunned by this... Elena has certainly put together a page that has touched many people. I get numerous emails from folks who live near Chernobyl who are most appreciative of Elena's work.

Anyway,,, I thought I'd give my fellow DU'ers an update ...

Someday I may have contact with Elena... I get a whole bunch of emails from folks wanting to meet her... mostly overseas students who are doing research projects on Chernbyl.

Elena's beautiful, her bike looks too fast for me (I'm a retired Harley Pilot) and Chernobyl....

Now I have an idea on what this place will look like 20 years after it all comes crashing down...

5. The Anglefire site is still up

Elena's original site is still up, but it looks like she's changed some url's and updated the contents. Here is what appears to be her front page, where she says that "now including a photos of new rides (spring 2004)": http://www.angelfire.com/extreme4/kiddofspeed/
