I hadn't realized that Jim Thompson had left the room after
his personally disastrous questioning of Clarke. From Dana Milbank's WP article:

_________

"I don't think it's a question of morality at all; I think it's a question of politics," Clarke snapped.

Thompson had to wait for Sept. 11 victims' relatives in the gallery to stop applauding before he pleaded ignorance of the ways of Washington. "I'm from the Midwest, so I think I'll leave it there," he said. Moments later, Thompson left the hearing room and did not return.

_________

Poor dumb fucker.

8. Way to go Kanrok. Great comment.
He made such an ass of himself today. Well now, he can come back to Chicago and collect his antiques along with his lovely wife Jayne.

6. His anger made him look so pitiful, I almost felt bad for the guy
Wasn't his first question where he asked, "I got your resignation here and your book over here, which one's true!?!"

I still can't comprehend how Clarke was able to stay so cool after that. I'd would have done something stupid like yell "YOU IGNANT FUCKIN PUTZ".

It was so damn obvious Thompson didn't do his homework.

7. Clarke was just so happy to be there to rub those twits'
faces in their own leavings.

9. The information he used about Clarke's background report to Fox
must have come from the Whitehouse. I do not understand why a member of the 9/11 commission is acting as a mouthpiece for the
Bush Regime. The 9/11 family members should demand that he resign.

10. I figured when he left the room the first time, he was hearing from ...
his masters on what to ask next. He had an irritating habit of shaking his head with his mouth open after he asked a question. And each question, Clarke counterpunched better than he punched. I found him and Lehman to be incredible assholes. Gorton seemed to be closer to liking for me. Kean seems like a nice guy. Roemer and Ben-Veniste were my heroes. They did a fantastic job. The 'Dr. Rice's doppleganger' line was brilliant!
