Isikoff said they back up what Clarke has said, NOT what the apologists are saying

I read an article in todays ChiTrib that says the same thing

here....lots of stuff that hasn't come out during hearings, I think:

And the panel's staff found that Bush's plan largely called for an escalation of former President Bill Clinton's diplomatic efforts. Potential military force to oust Afghanistan's Taliban government, which had been harboring bin Laden, would still have been at least three years off once the Bush plan was launched.
........
But military plans didn't even seem to come close to that level of consideration during Bush's first eight months in office.

Pentagon officials who dealt with terrorism told investigators they believed incoming Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld's "new team was focused on other issues and was not especially interested in their counterterrorism agenda," the preliminary report said.

By Sept. 11, 2001, Rumsfeld still hadn't filled an assistant secretary of defense job that traditionally served as the Pentagon's top official on counterterrorism policy, according to the staff report.

Rumsfeld complained Tuesday that it took too long for him to get his own team in place, at least in part because of delays in confirmation by the Senate.
do these weasels EVER assume responsibility for ANYthing

But the staff found Rumsfeld "did not recall any particular counterterrorism issue that engaged his attention before 9/11," except for plans recommended by Clarke to turn unmanned surveillance vehicles into flying weapons systems.

this wasn't broadcast, was it?

and Isikoff is the only one that mentioned even some of this info.

of course, TV media isn't mentioning it, for obvious reasons

other commission staff reporting includes:

Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz IGNORED a June White House draft memo, ordering the preparation of new military plans to attack the Taliban or Al Qaeda.

anybody see this anywhere?

plenty more here

2. are these staff reports available?
they must be, I guess. otherwise we wouldn't be reading about them.

did anybody see testimony reflecting the above material?

or see it discussed on TV?

I know that disgusting creature Wolfie only had time to slander Clarke during his nauseating tete a tete with bushsucker John King

that was exchange of McCarthyite innuendo was truly a low point in my memory, surpassing Dan Burton's calling WJC a scumbag.

these creeps only hinted at things "heard" about Clarke, and some other unsubstantiated, unsourced garbage that was truly despicable, having no place on a "news" program.

it was like National Enquirer on the air

6. Why don't you tell us how you REALLY feel?
Or better still, tell Wolfie that his scandal-sniffing innuendo-repeating doesn't fly.

5. I heard one about Clarke - vindicating him in everything
On September 4, he had a report predicting 9.11. he told those thugs: "There will be thousands of dead Americans....then what will you do?

10. They showed a little of the reports yesterday and they
Edited on Wed Mar-24-04 11:45 PM by k in IA
were extremely interesting but today none of the networks (including C-span)showed any of them. I know they included quite a bit that made Clinton look better than the general spin in the media has been.

This is the info they have figured out from all the interviews and reviews of all the docs, records, etc and we can't hear it.

Extremely annoying.

16. will we see at those hearings...
how vital a threat asscrack thought terrorism was? I believe it was way down below drugs and porn. About number 26 on his list. Also would like to know how much funding for terrorism threats he requested.
