Fox News\Clarke Transcript\NSC\Condi 'What A Wonderful World' !!!
So...

Apparently, according to Jim Angle(sp?) during his Special Report segment with Brit Hume, it was OK to play the tapes and spread the written transcripts of Clarke's off the record briefing with reporters to the press because...

Fox was released of that obligation by the folks who who originally had insisted it be kept off the record.

What folks you say?

The NSC

Who would have to approve of that decision?

I've got one word for ya!!!

But I'm too polite to use that word... maybe.

3. They (FAUX) said they contacted the WH.
Their purpose is to carry the administration's water. None of the other reporters at the background briefing asked if they could release the details. Just FAUX, the good little propagandists.

8. Because he did it as an unnamed official
specifically, a "senior counter-terrrorism expert" and people operate in those instances with the belief that they will have the seal of confidentiality. It is like giving an interview off the record, but with government sanction.

The NSC broke that seal--with the WH's blessing, one guesses--and has further politicized national security even MORE than the WH had previously politicized it with its phony intelligence estimates, etc.

11. This is SOP in the WH. They often give these "briefings on background."
It's just that FAUX goes out of its way to shill for this WH. Should reporters have gone to the WH and asked them to release them from confidentiality on the Plame issue? think the WH would have said "yes?" I didn't really see anything contradictory in Clarke's testimony, but I find the conduct of FAUX to be highly unethical.

9. It's An OLD Habit !!! Since Faux News Wants To Act As...
a propaganda wing of the RNC and Bush Administration, I'm keeping both eyes on 'em.

17. Please See Posts #8 And #11 !!!
Condi took the confidentiality off of the briefing in order to smear Clarke.

Sort of similar to the Plame outing by the White House.

These people have no shame. In fact, I believe many there are certifiable sociopaths!

But that's just me... maybe.
