Administration Quietly Admits It Needs Gays
(Washington, D.C.) Stretched thin waging war in Afghanistan and Iraq, the Pentagon appears to be turning to blind eye to gays in the military a new report indicates.

787 gays and lesbians were expelled from the military last year, says the annual review of the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” law, 'Conduct Unbecoming'. That's a 17 percent decrease from 2002 and a 39 percent drop from 2001, just before the conflicts began in Afghanistan and Iraq.

"You have to ask yourself, and you have to ask the Pentagon, why are the discharges going down?" said C. Dixon Osburn, executive director of the advocacy group and one of the report's authors.

"When they need people, they keep them. When they don't, they implement their policy of discrimination with greater force."

1. I heard a couple years ago they put 12 people who could Arabic out of the
army because they were gay. I didn't hear anything else about it, and was not sure it was even correct.

Then, recently I heard about it again. I only watch CNN or CSPAN, so feel they must be pretty reliable.

3. Yup that is true...some of their best Arabic translators happened to be
gay, and we desperately needed (and still do) translators in Arabic, but they were discharged because of their sexual orientation.
Stupid Pentagon fucks...

2. Like the Nazis needed Jewish armament workers
Up to a point, at least. Then they decided even these folks were expendable.
