It seems like there'd be lots to talk about the day after Richard Clarke's interview on 60 Minutes; and even though the WH press corps has been dismal for too long, this story is just too meaty for them not to go for it.

in the WH are burning the midnight oil tonight. I can visualize it. Coffee cups everywhere, donut boxes, ties undone, jackets off, tousled hair, bad breath, tempers running short.........all trying to come up with some way to make Boy Blunder look courageous and decisive in the war on terror.

They'll come up with 2 or 3 answers which they will instruct Scotty to respond with to every question. "The President believes it is very impor"dant"...bla bla bla." "I don't speak for the Pentagon...you'll have to ask the Pentagon....bla bla." "I answered that question las week". "The President never said Iraq was responsible for 9/11." And the press corp will sit on their asses and take his bullshit....just like alway. What a refreshing thing it would be if one of them stood up and said..."Scott, you are an employee of the citizens of this country,...it is your job to answer our questions...you are not answering our questions, you are evading them..you are not doing your job....you are wasting our time and insulting our intelligence and the intelligence of our audiences...we have had enough....and we're all going to get up and leave, right now. When you are ready to your job...you give us a call and we'll show up and do ours."

Why won't they do this? Why do they waste their time with this evasive dough boy? Christ they'd get straighter answers to their questions from Barney that other Scotty who hangs out at the White House. I mean, I understand that being in the WH press corp is supposed to be prestigious and all...but anyone who voluntarily sit through this little asswipes pretentious bullshit is demeaning themselves. They might as well be eating bowls of McClellan's shit...in a way that is exactly what they are doing and have been doing since he and flyshit have been serving it up...yet they keep wasting their time gobbling it down. Christ, they validate the asshole by showing up. What a statement could be made if they all refused to show up. It seems to me that that would be the course of action for a journalist with any sort of pride or integrity. Any journalist who did such a thing would certainly loose his WH press corp position....then again, so the fuck what? What's it really worth these days? Unless you like eating shit...not much.
