William Rivers Pitt, Reporting From New York City

Madison Avenue is shoulder-to-shoulder protesters, a mass of people a dozen blocks long. The cops look bored...probably a good sign.

William Rivers Pitt, Reporting From New York City
High noon

Out of the train station and into the revolution. Thousands of people bearing signs, banners, and bull-throated roars were streaming past Penn Station as I waited for a cab. There is no way to be sure at this point, but this may make Feb. 15th look like a picnic by comparison.

My cab just had to abandon me at 5th and 32nd. The cross streets are all blocked. Helicopters overhead. Today, the protesters own this city.

The train is about ten minutes away from Penn Station. The rallies were not scheduled to begin until noon, but I have been getting phone reports that masses of people have already gathered near 24th and Madison.

I'll be in the thick of things within the hour. Stay tuned...

8. They showed masses of people marching....
the network I am watching is the equivalent of CNN Headline News so they will continue to show it, will update as I catch it. They are also showing the protests around the world.

7. "Today, the protesters own this city."
I would phrase it "Today, the people are protesting, and they own this city."
