Newsweek Poll Kerry 48--Bush 48
Edited on Sat Mar-20-04 11:26 AM by PA-DEM
With Nader Bush 45-43. 4 out of 5 Nader voters are soft. That soft number is big since they will almost all vote for Kerry. No loink yet. Msnbc reporting. So with all the pounding Kerry has taken, not much damage done. When asked if Kerry not voting for the 87 Billion hurts him, 49% say's it doesnt matter, 27% say less likely to vote for Kerry(of course these are probably republicans anyway) and 20% says it will make them more likely to vote for Kerry(probably democrats).

1. I guess that's good news.
Bush has fired his wad, my liberal compatriots. The so-called "tax increase" bit has been used, as has the "soft on defense" lie. In addition, the fact that most people don't care about the $87 billion vote undercuts the "flip-flopping" charge. Unless the Repub. attack dogs are going to accuse Kerry of being a pedophile or something, I can't think of any bigger ammo they have. All we need to do now is play up our strengths, and hopefully events (such as the Plame case, Fahrenheit 9/11 and the other anti-Bush media coming out) will break in our favor. The economy is going nowhere fast. Iraq isn't looking good, and the coalition is falling apart.

As for Nader, I think the best thing to do about him is ignore him. Perhaps he won't make it on to the ballot in most states. Maybe he will even quit the race and endorse Kerry. If he doesn't, then I think the best way to diffuse the man would be to run some ads saying "Kerry needs every vote he can get. If you're really serious about defeating Bush*, vote for Kerry". Just be respectful and I think most of those "soft" Nader voters will peel off.

2. I agree
After a "bad" week, Kerry is running even with Bush. That is veey good news. Another thing to consider with Nader: The undecideds go overwhelmingly to the challenger, so a race with Bush at 45, Kerry at 43 and Nader at 5 fsvors Kerry.

6. Hey man I'm already there.
Even if Kerry were ahead 80-20 do you think I'd miss my chance to stick it to the Bush* campaign? Hell no! I hate that guy. I can't wait to get home over the summer and do whatever I can to ensure a Bush* defeat in Colorado (and a Ken Salazar Senate victory).

3. They will repeat, repeat, ad nauseum--and the whore press
will go along so that their lies will begin to sound like eternal truths. They haven't shot their wad--they have never depended on revelations. They have always depended on belittling someone with conventional "wisdom." Making Kerry smaller and smaller with each repeat of indecisive, weak on defense, tax raiser, over and over, so many times, as if it were plain and simple and obvious and just what any simpleton could see in Kerry if he looked. Black is white, war is peace, Kerry's a liberal out of touch with heartland values. They're really good at this, and they have the patience of Job when it comes to staying on message. All they have to do is tell their troops what the line is (through their ads) then the big slime machine--the whores in the media, the think tanks--will repeat and repeat, and truth will just become a he said, she said, people are divided victim.
