Did anyone see that guy get beat to death in Baghdad yesterday

I've always had troouble with the news showing such stuff. ONLY because I think it's disrespectful to the dead and because you know damn well if it was a white guy in Florida or something they wouldn't show it.

There is the argument that it should be shown because it is showing how truly brutal the climate is there now and all that. But I still think it's not right.

Your thoughts?

Anyway it was a guy who was seen running out of the car before it blew up yesterday...he was beat by about 40 people.

5. That's very sad.

I don't know how that should be handled. On one hand the gob writing a check out to the Bush campaign while he denies himself a little of life's comforts to do so, should see what is being done in his hero's name to hopefully let the scales drop from his eyes.

On the other hand I agree about showing disrespect for the person who was killed. Also, too much gratuitious violences makes people not care because they get used to it.

Show a minority get beat to death- ratings go up.

Show a white guy get beat to death by a bunch of savage, animalistic, minorities- ratings go up, public outraged.

Man commits suicide on live TV- quickly cut away, show clips as promos for news at eleven, ratings skyrocket, excuse it as an unforunate accident and a tragedy.

It's time for people to wake up to the reality of war, violence, brutality, and death. We live in a society of fiction -- violent action movies with HUGE death counts, "reality" programming that doesn't come close to our average, everyday, experiences, and sanitized news programs that promote patriotic values over the harsh, cold, brutal reality of war. Show these fucking sheep what the truth looks like and see what happens to the numbers of people supporting Bush's bullshit program of "liberation" for the Iraqis. Show the elderly who've had their legs blow off by cluster bombs. Show the young children who've been cut in half by shrapnel. Show the American soldiers bloodied and killed by "insurgents" in Iraq, and let's see what happens to the support for the neocon war.
