CNN POLL: Will al Qaeda attack the U.S. before the presidential election?
- What the hell motivates the mainstream media to ponder questions like this? This is blatant fear mongering and should be beneath the 'free' press.

2. I am really offended by all this shit
Ever since the Spanish elections people in the media have been talking about how the new government there was "installed" by terrorists.

WTF?

7. Remember when Ridge
met with reporters a couple of months ago to discuss how they should present the news if/when another attack occurs....Seems like they're priming the people..

This ticks me off. Please, someone explain to me how it is possible that Al Qaeda does NOT have internet access, somewhere, somehow.

Now tell me this CNN poll doesn't send a message to them, specifically. The current, majority 'yes' vote tells them the people are concerned, if nothing else. It tells them their tactics are working- and that's just due to the fact that this poll exists at all.

They are directly aiding the enemy's intelligence regarding the results of their tactics by posting this poll. This one needs to be yanked immediately!

16. While we were busy playing democracy...
Edited on Wed Mar-17-04 11:15 AM by Q
...the other side was buying up the media and manufacturing consent.

- It seems that most Americans and indeed too many Democrats still don't understand that the 'free press' has suffered a 'hostile takeover' and is now owned and operated by the Republican party.

5. Better, even more stupid question:
Edited on Wed Mar-17-04 12:38 AM by Must_B_Free
Should Al Qaeda attack the US to support President Bush in his war on terror?

You know, I mean how stupid can these poll questions get?

How about "If Al Qaeda attacks the US, will you vote for president Bush?

14. How about an intelligent one?
Do you believe the right-wing conspiracy arm of the government will stage another attack to effect the outcome of an election that will, without one, most surely unseat Scumbush?

8. This is sooooo stupid.
Of course Al Qaeda wants Bush to win. He will continue to infuriate muslims, driving more into the fundamentalist ranks and creating recruits for the jihad.

Why is our press afraid to get to the root problem here? Is it because Clinton had it figured out, and anything with Clinton's fingerprints on it is taboo? (Even if it's sensible, *especially* if it's sensible?)

9. Done!
Dear CNN,

I am disgusted with your portrayal of Spain's election. Contrary to what you have been reporting to the American public, Spanish citizens have been outraged at the support of the U.S. coalition to invade Iraq. This invasion into Iraq is the main reason the citizens were against Aznar, their former leader. The protest was a reaction to the terrorist attack, true, however the people blamed their own government for putting their people's safety at risk by involving the country in an unjustified and illegal war. The people of Spain practiced their Democratic right to protest against their government, and in the end replaced a leader they no longer agreed with.

I only wish our own people were so well informed of our own government, especially concerning the current administration's actions. Information is very important in a Democracy, so that people can react to what their government is doing. It is sad to see CNN cave into the GOP like this.
