Olbermann is actually going to cover the "Bush's feet touching dirt" story
(From mail, no link)

Clean Soles
The President is attending a 9/11 memorial groundbreaking on Long Island this afternoon, but Nassau County park workers have been toiling at the site to ensure the Commander in Chief's feet do not touch dirt, on instructions from the Secret Service. http://www.nynewsday.com/news/local/newyork/columnists/ny-nybres113703317mar11,0,1118887.column?coll=ny-ny-columnists
Anti-Bush protests are planned outside the ceremony.

1. I want him to change the red-blue map.. behind him
It's a "subliminible" message.. He needs to use the "purple" one, that's more historically correct :)

Love him though :)

Aren't emperors usually carried on a golden throne by several nubian slaves, with a few more in attendence to fan him* and peel grapes? Sheesh. What a piker.

(*edited to add that the fans MUST be made of those big ostrich feathers -- preferably purple.)

11. This all reminds me of a General McArthur story.
A man I knew (since deceased) was in the Navy stationed in the Philippines when McArthur "returned" as promised. He said the news cameramen rolled their cameras and McArthur stepped out of a landing craft into the water and walked up onto the beach. We've probably all seen that scene. But, as soon as the cameras stopped rolling, the friend said that aides ran up to McArthur, removed his shoes, died his feet, and put on dry socks and shoes. The other guys made do with their wet shoes. But at least he got his feet wet. If that had been Bush I guess he would have been carried.

If this was Al Gore or Bill Clinton or John Kerry or, dare I say it, Howard Dean, this would be on EVERY news program.

The media is so bought and owned by the right wing. Pathetic.

And by the way, the Chimp is stranger and stranger every day...sort of like Michael Jackson...Bubbles, is that you?

19. They should have just pull Air-Force 1 up to the site
Put the stairs right at the point of the dig. They could have Bush walk down the runway with a shovel, get to the bottom and dig up a bit of grass, turn around waving right back on to the plane.

The plane could immidiately taxi for take-off and the American people can stand back in awe as their selected leader rides off into the sunset.

attending these photo ops, clowing for the cameras, and making the same speech to one hundred fund raisers.
anyone questionthat, he will assume the role of schoolyard bully--another thing he thinks is a sign of a President and a great leader.

Countdown last night also showed the protestors against Bush who were present at this "media event". And we all know how rare a sight that is on any news network!

And the earlier poster is right, Countdown with Keith Olbermann is a great show that we should all be watching. He's up against O'Reilly so he needs all the help he can get--it airs at 8pm and Midnight Eastern on MSNBC!

49. Anderson Cooper Vs. Keith Olbermann
Anderson Cooper is rumored to have worked for the Republican party or some Republican think-tank in DC when he was still in college. I don't know if this means he's a Republican or not, but considering his mom is Gloria Vanderbilt and he was a trust fund baby, my money is yes on the Repug party! I Don't know what Keith's political orientation is but I do know the Freeps hate him--all the more reason not to miss Countdown! And yes, it's obvious that Cooper's 360 program borrows heavily from Countdown's format.

is gay, I read so in the gay press although I can't currently
provide the link. He seems very pro gay rights. He interviewed
gay partners about returning service members and how they don't have
a usual homecoming as their partners are not exactly welcome at
the docks. I think AC is liberal.
