Heard yesterday on KPFK re: OBL . . .
Just a heads up, Jerry Quickley's program "Beneath the Surface" yesterday (5-6 pm Wed-Fri 90.7 FM in Los Angeles kpfk.org), he mentioned that his sources in Baghdad told him that the U.S. Gov't caught OBL two weeks ago and are holding him until a time deemed more important for the re-selection of * (like just before the Reptilian convention in NY?).

Jerry has been to Iraq twice, once before the war and once during, so he does have contacts and to me, is credible. He said he's going to look into it further and will get back to the listeners if he thinks there's something to it.

This is a tin-hat moment, but we can't disregard it entirely . . .

Anybody monitoring al-jazeera or other sources for similar information?

2. Aren't there already other sources?
I recall, just about two weeks ago, a number of stories, variously sourced, that bin Laden had been caught and was being secretly held. There was even an official denial, I believe.

4. Yup. Iranian radio. I also read rumours from, if I recall correctly,
Pakistan, India and Germany.

5. Here's the thing that strikes me about this...
Saddam and Osama were this administration's top bogeymen. If they trot out Osama like they did Saddam, what's left? They have to run on fear, because they have nothing else. Without the threat of Osama out there, they'll have to come up with a new bogeyman to justify the billions of taxpayer dollars going to defense.

I think a lot of people are going to say, good, glad you got him. Now we can elect a president who's more sensible and balanced about things.

6. Even though we know

the idea of an independent media is all but dead, this seems too big to not be exposed by a reporter/editor wishing to make a name for themselves. Doncha think?
