Election 2004 could be another train wreck
and i'm sure that bushco will do everything in it's power to guarantee that it is. many of the same signs are there, as last time. an election too close to call. voting machine irregularities, florida in play with jeb, a stacked supreme court. it could even be worse than last time. i'm sure that bushco will see to it that a fair election is railroaded again, and another coup will ensue.

we all know that this will be perhaps the nastiest campaign year in memory, and we must brace ourselves and prepare for counteraction at every attack on liberty and the election process.

we need to look forward with steely eyes for the inevitable electoral college trickery, voting machine trickery, supreme court trickery, and most of all, another phony terror attack from a bunch of shady arabs who hate our freedoms.

we must enter election 2004 with a frosty attitude and on the offensive this time. no wimpery, no quarter given, no prisoners.

1. you forgot to mention one other thing....
the media, like in 2000, will and has already started campaigning for Bush and his thugs. The media picks up on a Bush argument like the flip flop issue, and run with it by attacking Kerry without ever looking at the facts and never for one minute ever discuss Bush's flip flops.....and we know there are many. Thanks to the media there is a perception out there (and the poll numbers show it) that Kerry is a flip flopper on the issues while Bush is not.....nothing could be further from the truth! So, like in 2000 Kerry not only has to deal with the Repub machine and the Supreme Court but the media as well....he is already being (Al) Gored!

3. On the media flip-flop coverage...
Sounds to me like the Kerry people got their message out pretty quickly that it was all about a single vote in 1991, and the press may be feeling a little shamefaced for buying in so uncritically. Better to get them a little gunshy by being caught with their pants down now (pardon the incredibly mixed metaphor) than to wait for them to buy into some major Bushit later in the runup to Nov 2.

2. The thing that gives me the most hope is that
Kerry and his people seem very much aware of everything they face, and are implementing some very effective strategies to counter the RW machine. Everything they've done so far has been pretty much on-target. Maybe even that "black President" thing, but especially the doctored photo and the Drudge intern flap.

4. His rapid response team's been pretty good about...
...hitting back quickly. That was one of the secrets of Big Dog's success in '92 - a quick-firing war room headed up by everyone's favorite Ragin' Cajun, Jimmy "the Serpent" Carville...

(I've heard "the serpent" is a term of endearment for Jimmy)

6. The most expedient way for * to undermine the voters' choice would be
not to outright change blocks of votes. He will just follow the playbook from 2000, where he'll create enough uncertainty and confusion in a state's tally, and the controversy will be bumped up to the U.S. Supreme Court again. And you know how the rest will turn out.
