Scandalous: President Bush involved in racist public display?
Edited on Tue Mar-09-04 12:30 PM by SeveneightyWhoa
www.counterbias.com/news001.html

I'm reposting this because it didnt get the traction I think it deserved last time. Other Democrat forums seem to think this is more newsworthy than DU'ers seem to believe. Plus, I made some updates to the page, including the guy's name, the name of the event and the date, as well as a link to the actual news report.

Fight rightwing propaganda with some of our own! I mean, it couldn't hurt.

1. What About the Painting He Got
From MLK Jr's widow, he said "I can't wait to hang it", eliciting laughter from the thugs assembled for the ceremony. These fucks get away with murder. Literally.

10. One link...coming up...right from the maw of the Monster
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/01/20020121-1.html

Notice the (laughter) which follows that oh-so-funny-joke. Of course, what's missing is the inflection which caused the laughter (if he had said this line in a neutral tone of vocie, would there have ben laughter?)

Bunnypants* said, "I can't wait to HANG it."

The pile of shit.

Anyway, there you go!

2. Shrub loves to belittle people
Even those who are presumabely his allies. I agree that this is an ignorant and disgusting display, and I gave it due attention yesterday, telling everyone I knew about it.

I liked that brief period here when threads had counters showing how many people checked them out. It gave the feeling that threads weren't lost in the void just because folks didn't respond. I lurk far more than I respond, and I bet many others do the same.

3. there is no doubt about Bush's crass approach
he thinks it is funny--in reality it is disguised sneering and manipulation. The poor guy is caught and cannot do a damn thing aobut the insult--Bush knows that--he is a bully and this is one aspect of his bullying. Do it to him and he'll kill you.

6. Thanks for reposting - I missed it previously. Demeaning, disrespectull,
and I doubt that he would ever do that to a white man with an identical height, build, status, and in an identical situation. On the other hand, what words went with this? Did the context justify this? Somehow, given Resident Deficit's couth, I wouldn't be surprised if he couldn't help doing it because of his attitude.

By the way, are there still blacks in Brazil?

7. I'm hard-pressed to think of any...
...white politician or person of prominence he would do that to. It's the little condescending moves like this one that exemplify the "soft racism" he so ineloquently mangles the language about. The dolt probably doesn't even remember doing it as I'm sure the patronizing racism is so deeply ingrained in him.

Much as I hate Colin Powell, I'l bet he goes home and kicks the dog with teh way you KNOW he gets dissed by Dubya and teh rest of the Peanuts gang.

Yes...that's right. CP is "Franklin" to the rest of Shrub's Peanut Gang. Feel free to assign teh other roles.

22. When questioned about his obviously demeaning behavior
the president responded, "Hey, he's a good darkie so I patted him on the head. What's the big deal?"

Edited on Tue Mar-09-04 12:54 PM by Minstrel Boy
Bush has a fetish for the heads of bald men. Lookee here:

It's demeaning and, frankly, bizarre. But it's not racist.

16. It LOOKED racist--that's precisely the point
I don't think it's asking too much of a national leader to act and react appropriately.

14. In Kevin Phillips' book, he says the Bush family
has always acted out a lot of fratboy, schoolboy humor. I think they might be humor-impaired and this is the only way Bush knows how to get laughs - stupid insults.

21. Translation: Boy...
Touching the head of any adult person is very offensive and coming from a rich white jerk like little man bush, it is very prejudice. What a puking action coming from the president of the USA. In many cultures, touching the head of an adult is cause for killing the offender. Maybe behind doors, little man bush is used to touching colon powell's and condi's head for good luck.

If he touches adult men's heads to show just how beneath they are, maybe he grabs women's crotches too.
