or the part in the Nancy book about her having to come to GHWB's rescue, cause he'd been caught in a DC car accident with his mistress, ostensibly Jeniffer Fitzgerald (I don't think she named her)

16. It will be a one-day international laydown date

Kitty Kelley's book will be published on the same day around the globe. It hasn't yet been delivered -- my publishing contacts in the UK tell me they're expecting the manuscript to hit their desks in April. She has more than just a U.S. publisher -- she has publishers around the world who'll be bringing it out. I don't expect there's any way this one will get banned.

I've only read one, Nancy Reagan: The Unauthorized Biography. It was devastating (to Anne Francis ROBBINS, Nancy DAVIS REAGAN's real name). Refreshing now that the media portrays her as Saint Nancy.

Mind you -- it is hard to imagine anything more damaging to the Bush Chimperial Dynasty than Kevin Phillips excellent book -- but this one will be enjoyable from the "personal" angle -- i.e. destroying the facade that the Bushistas have attempted to create for themselves. In truth -- they are as creepy and as disfunctional and disturbing as any family you would see on "Cops" or rampaging within the walls of the presidential compound of any Banana Republic or decadent Roman villa.

Funny -- I don't find Kelley "nasty" -- I just think she has a great eye for the foibles of human character. Her books seem to be, at times, like a John Waters film -- revolting and compassionate at the same time. She has an engaging style of writing, and must be a kind of "sponge" for people to reveal their juicy stories to.

She does not seem to have an axe to grind with anyone or for any cause -- hence, there is never a sense of meanness or vindictiveness in her work; she just enjoys a great story, which can consist of the dirt that hypocrites try to hide. A lot have written here about her nasty stories about Nancy Reagan -- funny -- the book had the opposite effect on me: seeing Mrs Reagan as such a vulnerable person made me feel sympathetic towards her.

I eagerly await this book. It will appear at an excellent time, after people have been brainwashed with those sickening Riefenstahl-like commericals of President His Chimperial Majesty and his Loving WifeTM Laura -- this book is going to take the mickey out of these bastards but good.

24. She's superb at getting people to talk

I was talking to an editor who's worked with Kelly, and she said that Kitty is SOOO disarmingly sweet and nonthreatening when she's working you over. She puts people at ease and before you know it, you're telling her your most intimate secrets.

You see, this is why women make much better spies than men do. They know how to sweet-talk you out of your secrets!
